This may favor riders that have a relationship with a good engine builder/tuner. Those that don't, well get left behind.
I also see a line at any tuner, with top dollar being paid for their time too.
Anyone who can accurately tune a Power Commander map will have a good advantage.
This is based upon the fuel acting differently in our motors than the fuel we are presently mapped to.

What difference will the fuel being used make if two riders are using the same fuel and rider A has a good relationship with a tuner and rider B doesn't? None. Rider A already had that advantage regardless of the fuel being used.
You don't say... Again, what does this have to do with the fuel being used? Regardless of fuel, someone that can accurately tune a PC will have an advantage over someone that can't. That's ALWAYS been the case...
If you guys are that worried about your tuner's ability to properly tune your bike for the new fuel, get a more competent tuner! A bike that was originally tuned on pump gas will run fine on MS93. The amount of difference that remapping would make would be unnoticable by even the best of us.

you are joking right? Change the formula and the people that can't react will have a dis-advantage.
I am not worried about anything! Just common sense will tell you supply and demand will take over. It already has, my motor guy is so busy right now he has taken the phone off the hook. and I know who's bikes he is doing!
Let me explain it a little better, if you have a mechanic in your back pocket, they will tune the engine day to day, if not race to race. I have been to many tracks, many race weekends, and this is what happens. If you don't, and something significant in the engine performance changes, you will just have to work with what you've got until you can get tuner time.
Don't tell me a remapping will not be noticable, if that were the case, I wouldn't see laptops out in the pits. Why would any top rider waste time trying to tune if you did not even know it was needed?
Again, this is all predicated on the fuel being different, if it is not, the points are moot.

Do you really have people working your engines? Mine was worked by honda when they made it and has not changed since.

Some of us would probably gain a lot more by putting more $ into suspension so they can carry more cornering speed instead of worrying about the motor anyway...![]()

No, just one person, on one engine.
It's been raced for three seasons, one by a top expert, so I thought I would do the proper thing.
Rather than waiting for soemthing bad to happen, I did what I thought was best for the bike.
Now, with that said, do you really have your builder on a diet?

I think Scott was running U4.
When I purchased it, I asked if pump was OK, Scott said it would not hurt the eninge, but it was mappped for U4 and would be down on power a little as a result.
