Anyone wanna work a AMA Pro race? Stand on pit wall? Etc etc. Talk to Eric... woodcraft_cfm%40yahoo.com
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm looking for someone who might want to come to Road Atlanta as a
wrench. Carl is going off to get married....I've already got one guy
coming, but there is more to do than just one guy. Anyone who is
interested please email me at eric@woodcraft-cfm.com
VIR: was fun...We got the chassis working well on our bike but had
some bad luck in the race, we came from 16th to 9th in he race and
then had a locknut come loose and the rear hub came 5 laps from the
end and leaving us on the side of the track (upright but unable to
continue)- a bit of a bummer.
Jeff came out of the truck blazing - top 5 quick in both classes on
Friday. His A bike then started to sound really bad, and slowed
down. We did a couple laps in FX qualifying, then got on his B bike -
which did not work well, and he then went back out on the ailing A
bike. He then put all his good stuff on the B bike and it came
around OK. He caught the 2nd group of guys (Attack, M4 & Pegram)
early in the FX race. Larry faded back to Jeff and then slowed him
down a ton with his missle of a bike and slower mid corner speed. I
was fighting a similar battle with the Stargel FX Yamaha of Taylor
Knapp. Jeff finally got around but Chaz Davies & co were long
gone...leaving a good 7th place. SS went OK, a tough start back in
14th and then moving forward to get a top 10, ahead of the Attack
Kawasakis and Roger Lee Hayden.
I'm fully convinced that if he had a factory bike he'd be up
front...we were both down 8-9 mph in FX (which surprisingly is very
similar to FX, only the top couple bike are appreciably faster than
top SS bikes)....he's riding really well - I hope someone notices.
Boston --> San Diego
This for the Labor day weekend event? I'm going to be down there for the weekend. I can pitch in where needed, but not sure how much you would need of me?

I have no idea what Eric needs, I suggest giving him a call. I don't think he needs someone to tear his engine apart.. Carl normally does the typical pit crew stuff.
- Timing laps from Pit Wall and writing them down
- Handling pit board during the race
- Swapping tires on the bike
- Handling tires, helmet servicing, etc at the race
- Gasing up the bike
- Making changes to the motorcycle (suspension tweaks, etc. Eric tells you what he want "Add two clicks to the high-speed compression)
- Fixing bike if it takes a digger (clip-ons, bodywork, etc)
- Etc etc
If you have the chops to handle the job it'd be a amazing experience for you. I've been to over a dozen races in the last year and the AMA Paddock is a fun place. You'll have pitlane access, see all the cool shit going on, brush elbows with the stars, look like a bigshot, etc. Well worth the cost of admission IMO (plane ticket / food / lodging).
Past that talk to Eric (email above) about the details.
Boston --> San Diego

Last I heard, Eric was all set on that front.
From the NEAR List:
I got a number of people who were interested in helping out - thanks very much. I'm all set for the race now and hope to finish out the
