No Cycles 128 this year

    No Cycles 128 this year

    Some of you may have gone in years past to the Masters of Mini race at Cycles 128 in November. Cold temps, no parking, and mini pavement MX with hundreds of your closest friends around and through the Cycles 128 building. Sadly it won't be happening this year as Cycles 128 isn't available. Anyone got any ideas for alternate venues that can work with extremely short notice? In addition to having enough pavement for a mini road course there needs to be enough area for people to park and pit.

    Yes - I'm calling town hall right now to check on the permit. CMP is all in.

    Ok, talked to town hall - they're good. We need a solid date and general idea of how many ppl would be showing. Can you help me with those two items, Josh?

    I'm thinking 11/9, this would in Lunenburg, MA and we're thinking tires/hay bales for the track. We've got parking and police for the detail.

    Is CMP still in Lunenburg? They have to be on the line with Fitchburg.

    You should see if you can cut across the marina into and use the old Apple Valley Ford lot as part of the track. That would be HUGE.

    Just a little insight here, as ive got some experience with C128 as a company....

    They have gone thru a LOT of management changes this summer/fall....HUGELY NEEDED changes. The owners have stepped up and cut out a lot of riff raff and added some GOOD people.

    The unfourtunate thing is the guy who was kinda 'in charge' of the Master of Minis, was one of those axed....

    Its an incredible facility, with newly added Ducati, MV Agusta and Triumph, to their existing Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and KTM franchises.

    Hopefully they can gain some ground, reputation wise....and BRING US BACK MASTERS OF THE MINIS!!!!

    From Davo's initial report, it sounds like it was more of a scheduling issue than Cycles 128 flat out not wanting to play so there is hope for next year.

    We're looking at adding 1 extra round to the minimoto schedule at CMP, first or second week of December.

    Contact Davo for details on the November round, he is having one - he told me where but it didn't stick in my brain, sorry.

    I used to watch the YSR50 races in their parking lot, waaay back in the day. I had no idea they still hosted things like this.
