Why do some race bikes have the front brake lines routed in front of the fork legs? Just curious.

some are 2 from the mc & some are 1 & split down the line
I guess since my bike is in the photo Ill comment. The reason we do it is to keep the lines away from the tire and wheels. With the fender on the chances of the line getting snagged is low. However in racing anything can happen. Ive broken fenders and Ive raced without a fender. The forks act as a guide to keep the lines away from the wheel especially during braking. If you have the extra length its the way to go.
you have no choice. the master cyl is in front of the forks and that where SS lines come from.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...
