I'll be heading up to Nova Scotia in July to race with the Atlantic Roadracing League at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, NS and found out they have a new class for CBR125s and EX250s. After having done a bunch of trackdays with the EX250, I'm finally going to get to race it!
Of course, I'll also be doing the 125 and LWGP races on the RS125. Should be a fun weekend!

I've always thought the EX250 would be fun on the track.
Sounds like a blast, after the racing I did on the EX500 I always thought the 250's would be a ton of fun on a short track.
I hope there will be a 250 class at Loudon next year.

The track is actually on the side of a hill, so it's got some interesting elevation changes!
Oh, and for those thinking that an EX250 must be fun on a short track, I can tell you that yes, the EX250 is indeed a lot of fun!

Here's some fast guy going around Shubie. I suspect he's on something a bit more powerful than an EX250...

I believe it's just a rumor so far, based on this article that was previously posted on here.

Basically, CCS is trying out an Ultralight Thunderbike class at NJMP, Summit Point and VIR. Some, including me, are hoping that the class catches on and we can start racing EX250s at Loudon. If it does happen, I'll already have a race-prepped 250 ready to go!

Looking at the popularity of the new Ultralight Thunderbike CCS class...
May 13-15, NJMP, 1 entry
May 28-30, Summit Point, 2 entries
June 18-19, VIR, 1 entry
I sure hope those small grids don't kill the class before more interest builds up.
For an interesting contrast, the similar class at Nova Scotia, where the racing community is much smaller than LRRS, has two races per weekend and had 5 entries during their first round and 9 entries for the second round.
If such a class would be introduced at Loudon, I would certainly participate, unless it would conflict with the races I run on the RS125.

There already is awesome and super cheap competitive racing at Loudon, has been for years. Unfortunately the super cheapness and awesomeness don't make up for people's egos and you have poor turnout. It's not "real" racing unless you are on a high HP bike apparently.

Been wondering about that track, can't wait to hear the recon report. Are you driving the whole way or taking a the ferry out of Portland?

Yeah I was racing the EX last year in amateur, lots of fun and wicked cheap but at best there were two other guys out there with me. The most fun I had racing motards in the wave in front of me and catching some experts. Now it sits in the garage and I race the SV instead.
Bring home the gold!

I was there last year and really liked it. The track is 1.6 miles and technical. The few drawbacks are sparse facilities and a rough track. Of course, depending on your point of view, the bumps add that extra bit of challenge!
I'll be driving up to New Brunswick to visit family before heading down to Nova Scotia to race.

Woodcrafts? I've got a set on mine. The nice thing about them is that Miles usually has footpegs in stock that fit in case I grind one of them down...
