After months of working on this bike and getting it ready for the new season, today I am finally finished. I simply needed to put the finishing touches on the electrical work this morning, but to be done after all this time and so close to the VIR trip is a great sense of satisfaction.
Here is a list of things that I have done this winter to it:
Adapt a fairing bracket and add a fairing
New rear shock
Keyless ignition switch
LED dummy lights for neutral and oil
New muffler
Add a DVR and camera
Removed even more wiring
Add Starlane GPS-R laptimer
Paint bodywork
Since I mostly did electrical work this winter, I was really worried that I might mess something up. After putting the final touches on the wiring, much to my wife's delight, I brought the bike back outside. First attempt at firing it up failed, so I checked the easiest of things first, and found that I needed to tighten the battery terminals a bit more. Second attempt gave me the result that I was looking for... Pure V-Twin thunder.
I am so happy to finally be done. This is going to be a great year.
Wait, all this, and no pics?
Tease.
Looking good, now there's some flash to go with the exhaust note. : )
