I know this is totally a longshot but Loudon doesn't get wireless internet does it? I've seen laptops up there but I figure you're all just tuning?
I think you can get it at the end of the north garages. You may have to have your own router to plug in, but the cable is there. Although, if i'm not mistaken again, I'm pretty sure someone who pits in the garages brings one each weekend.
There isn't open wireless at the track. There is wired internet in the tech garage, and some race weekends someone brings a router.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
As they have said, you can get it, you just have to find a good spot.
We should try to run a remote out to the 1a area.

If people are up for it, it wouldn't take many wireless capible laptops to setup a community mesh to cover all of Loudon. The software is free, laptops that are capable are cheap.
Meraki
Cheap option, $50 bucks a node, easy cheasy conf, plug one in the garage, random people bring theirs with them and fire them up in the pits. A mesh forms, and as long as there are enough nodes to cover the area, you get access. More nodes, better access.
That is cool if it works... How far away from another laptop can you be?
Heck, I'd buy a couple to hand out to people so I could get service out in 1a.

The outdoor range is listed as 300 to 700 feet per node.
I wonder if we could but em on the Speaker poles?
We should take up a collection...

would you back that up with a little cash?
This might not happen until next year...

I have a Sprint PCS card in my laptop and it works Ok at Loudon. I'm there tomorrow
NHIS allows certain individuals to have access to their (NHIS'S) network, and those people when they are at the track set up in the north garage (usually), which is why so many of you have had the access in the garage area in the past. Most notable person with this access is Carl McAllister.
NHIS does not allow everyone this access. If you have to ask why they don't allow everyone this access then ask yourself this question: If you have the amount of people that are at NHIS for a weekend in your house for a weekend, would allow all of them on your computer?
The easiest and most convenient way to get the the internet at the track is to buy a wireless card like some have done as stated above.
