Anyone know what the track records are for Loudon?
I just noticed Jeff Wood did a 1:16 yesterday on his Motard. Looks like he, Eric, and Scott Greenwood were all doing 1:12-1:13 on Gixxers.
The lowest time I've found is Mladin in 2000. He did a 1:09 on a GSX-R 750.
I'm amazed how close the motard time is for two bikes that are so vastly different.
Kind of gives perspective when street riders say their bike is not fast enough on the street.
Ben
Mladin has the track record still.......and that is really fuggin' fast on a motard.

The track was changed slightly after Mladins time. Turn one was altered as well as turn 8 and the chicane. I think Scott Greenwood holds the current track record with a 1:11. something.
Those guys are truly amazing!!!!!

Wood's 16.9 on the dirtbike is phenomenal. I have been watching him from my 125 and I know he uses VERY little brake in T1 holding the throttle open nearly to the apex. Same in the bowl. The only place I see him brake is in T3. He is absolutely SPANKING that bike for all it's worth.
The fact that he is so close to the open class sportbike times proves that HP is generally going to slow you down in the curves!
Greenwood's time: 1:11.176Originally posted by zx1012r

Doug Henry clocked a 1:17.0 on Thursday. I had a great Turn 8 treehouse view of him and Jeff going at it on Wednesday.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Would you look and his riding position(body position)!!!
He had the same kinda body laguage in 1A during the Nationals on his other machine.... he appears to be pulling the bike thru the turn to try and get it to go faster!!
Like when you see someone taking their old dog for a walk in the morning and they are late for work!!![]()
I still love the smell of burnt racing fuel in the morning!
Quarterley once pointed out the difference between dirt trackers turned roadracers and pure roadracers when they went into a turn. He said that the dirt guys held their shouders above the centerline of the triple tree and that the roadracers' shoulders were below the centerline. Henry was putting his foot instead of his knee down a lot, also.Originally posted by trackdog

I noticed that too. Henry rode like a dirt tracker and Jeff like a roadracer. It was cool to see the different styles so close to each other in a race.Originally posted by Johnny B

It seemed to me that when Wood was in 1A his mind was@ the apex of T2.

I thought that Eric Bostrom STILL held the NHIS track record @ 1:11... on a ZX7RR
Gobert did a 1:10 something and Mladin has a couple of 1:09s I believe.
derek
In the last AMA race at NHIS Bostrom and Mladin were doing 1:10-1:11's the whole race. I taped the race so I now there lap times.
Did you tape qualifying, smartass?
d
Listen hear pussy ankle. Fuck qualifing it's the race times that matter. Just look at Kenny Roberts last MotoGP weekend..... fuckin guy came in 7th after getting pole.
Lets get back to your ankle. You were walking just fine last Friday and you have had another week to heal. So why don't you take your panties off and get out there....... PUSSY!!!!!![]()
