Long story short I missed 3 out of 5 races I was regestired for. My weekend sucked
Thursday night : I arrive at the track around 1130pm or so after a nice long stressful day at work. Its pouring obviously. I meet up with Jeff # 540 and Rui# 123. We start setting up my site slowly. Get my tent set up and as we finish the fricken tent collaspes. I stand there looking at it with a few choice words and have a beer or two. Finally get the thing set-up and go to bed. Zipper breaks……tent door wide open while it pours all night, I pass out….
Friday…..Wake up to the same crappy weather, tent door wide open but remarkably there isnt 2inches of water in my tent. I go to pre-reg and sign away the money I figured I wasted because I don’t have rains and I wasn’t riding on the dots, already done that twice with the same crappy result. Go out to breakfast soaked, sun comes out, track drys…sweet I am racing!!
MWSB race #4. Really small grid, we take off down to turn 1. first time going thru I split two guys and go in too hot for the new setup, come close to the grass and manage to come out of the near wreck in fourth, coming out of turn 2 I come damn close to highsiding, try to catch back up with leaders, they guy right behind me on the green ARGO bike has no such luck. He highsides from what I am told and the race is red flaged. We grid back up and my bike starts smoking, its leaking water out of the radiator. I take myself off the grid, hoping my radiator isnt shot. Luckily cap just loosened up.
MWGP Dash for Cash…First real shot at the new setup….On the outside of the front row. I get a good start I think I was running 4th or 5th, race was red flaged. Get a crappy start on the restart once again red flag this time we re-grid and I am on the 2nd row decent start running about 5th. End up racing with two guys for most of the race #644 tim barber and #914 david hanig. Coming out of turn 2 on lap 8 or so tim gets an awesome drive and I am on his ass, we both come flying up on david down the back straight. Dave runs it wide in 3 and we both go inside him. Following tim around for a the remaining laps when we come up on the last expert. Tim has enough distance on me to get by the EX before turn 10, while I end to follow thru 11-12, tim is able to get a good cushion on me and finishes in 3rd. 3 secs ahead of me. Go to check my results and I say to my buddy Jeff if I didn’t hit a 1:19 I was gonna be pissed. I look at the times and to my surprise I hit a 1:17!!! I had never broken into the teens until this weekend and I hit 17. Big shit eating grin on my face the rest of the day
Saturday…. They announce Superstock is free entry so I sign up and rush to get ready for qualifying. Go out for qualifying run some good laps but in the back of my mind I know my tires are running low on life/grip. So I take it easy. I end up qualifying 13th out of 31 starters so I am very pleased.
HWSB race #7 I start on the front row and get a decent launch running about 5th for all of the race. Got a good amount of distance between me and 6th but I keep it up because the front 5 are togethor and I am hoping they slow each other down. Last lap I go thru turn 1, 1a they best I ever have, I come into to two flying right on the apex perfect and then bam I am on the ground sliding into the tires. I tucked the front. Front tire was all done and I just pushed it abit to hard. Luckily no major damage to myself or the bike. I go by and check my times I had 3 laps in a row at 1:17. even though I didn’t complete the race I am very satisfied with my times.
Sunday…The day of suck….raining again…..i need new Dots and don’t have the money to get both rains and dots, I figure if it keeps raining I am not running period. But in case I take my tires off and bring them to BM and leave em there just in case. It rains til about 5 mins before my first race MWSB race 3 which I watch on the side lines keeps getting nicer out and track is drying quick by this time there is no way I can get my tires swapped and heated before the ASRA race. I watch this from the sidelines as well thinking what could have been. I remain pissed for remainder of the day and still am….
1:17'S are nothing to sneeze at man. Good Job!! Keep your head up!

Nice job out there this weekend getting into the 17's, keep it up. Get yourself some rains man, the wet grids really suck lately.
nice riding man, I was watchin in T1 most of the day on Saturday... you were rippin.
Like these guys said don't let 1 bad weekend get you down... its the nature of the beast.
You're flyin man... hopfeully i can get back up to pace next weekend and come chase you.
And yeah I was right behind both of you, saw you smoke the rear and almost highside... and just as I was thinking wow he saved it, then Richard highsided the SHIT out of himself... he hit fucking hard... as I am driving out of 2 his bike is following right alongside me pushing out towards the wall... definitely right on the racing line so they had to flag.
Sucks about your coolant but I'm glad I noticed it before we went back out... maybe thats even what made you lose the rear if it got on your tire just a thought.
