After careful thought and lengthy soul searching, I have decided that I will not be returning to NHMS for the 2014 season. This includes everything from daily track activities to the Penguin Racing school and L.R.R.S. I've decided that a clean break is necessary to focus on returning to my original career in industrial and commercial facilities and property management and to keep moving forward with a love and relationship I didn't think was possible just a few short years ago. Those wishing to sign up to corner marshal or inquire about training should call Operations at (603)513-5726.
Towards the end of last season I approached the track and requested that I be hired on in a full time capacity. Considering that I was working about 10 months a year at the track and now found myself past the mid 40’s, I needed to move back past a subsistence living to a living wage/salary with the accompanying benefits and insurance. Though an attempt was made, when we finished putting the track to bed just before Thanksgiving, I was handed a coat and a thank you for helping and sent home. The budget and business goals didn’t allow for this to happen.
I have loved every minute I’ve been at the track over the years. I am proud to have worked with some of the greatest and most caring people and honored to be a member of the best racing and track day family. Not only that, working at the track helped me through the toughest time of my life and gave me a reason to keep going.
I now find myself in love and a relationship I never thought was possible again. It has awakened old wants, needs and aspirations that go well beyond just working to meet the minimal needs as I have been doing. I was hoping that a career in motor sports would meet those needs for the last half of my working career but, that didn’t happen. Not only do I owe it to myself to move on, I owe it to her.
I will always think of my years at Loudon as some of the greatest times of my life. A time filled with the best people, great racing, awesome stories and memories that will last a lifetime. Every time I pour out the drinks, the first toast will be to the Loudon Track Family. It may be a big dysfunctional family but, it’s the best in the world! In the theater and Broadway they always wish each other the best of luck by saying “break a leg”. As many of you may know, I bumped that up years ago, so in parting, with the 2014 season coming up, I wish all of you a hearty “Die In A Fire, Cupcake!”. Watch out for each other and make those memories that last!
This concludes our broadcast day

There's truth and charm and beauty
And strangeness everywhere
The closer we examine
The more there's nothing there
We sincerely appreciate all the work that you did both with LRRS and the school. I was always comfortable with you in the tower, as I know that you had the experience to get the job done and that you genuinely cared about the people out there. I wish you the best of luck going forward and hope to see you up at the track again in the future. Once you are a part of this family, you are always a part....don't forget that you are always welcome back, even If just for a visit.
Best of luck Paul. You must have a boatload of awesome memories! Time to make some new ones and I hope we see you at the track as a spectator some time...!

Shit, I was secretly equipping everyone on pit lane with orange gloves for this coming season!
It was truly fun working with you, especially the car events when we were picking on Ken and
working the insanity known as the 24 Hours of LeMons. A final "All hail Paul Allen!" from me and
my hot grid girl!

Thanks, folks. At some point you have to make hard decisions. Give up what you want to be doing and do what you have to do. sometimes what you love just isn't enough to pay the bills.
John, that probably would of resulted in me taking shots at you from the camera platforms!

Thank you Paul for your contribution to the family and good luck with your future endeavors. Although I never met you personally, I always felt very safe knowing you were there looking out for us!
Paul,
Best of luck to you in your future endeavors.... take it easy on that "break a leg" thing though, eh?

A couple of years ago, I went down in 3.
you were working it.
After I rolled out and stood up, you were there.
"Are you okay?"
"yes"
"Damn! that was the longest slide I've ever seen!"
Thanks for keeping me safe, on the track, and as a Corner Marshall.
Stay safe,
Have fun,
