The return of Mr. Daytona (for now anyway).
Soup :: Russell Will Race Superbike At Daytona :: 02-29-2008
This will certainly be short lived as a stipulation from his insurance company, following his 2001 Daytoina 200 injuries, is that he is no longer allowed to race professionally (leading to his retirement decision at the time). I'm sure that he is using the point of view that these races are a "promotional opportunity" and not a comeback to pro racing.
Good to see him back in the saddle in any capacity at Daytona though.

He's not racing professionally. He doesn't have a paid ride with a sole purpose of racing motorcycles.
He raced last year with WERA endurance. From an insurance standpoint there is no difference.
i read that he was close to settling with the insurance company. (i don't have the link though!)
Saw Scott last week at Barber. He worked out new deal with Insurance company.
He said he felt rusty, but he had a huge smile on his face the entire time and had no trouble keeping up with Steve Atlas (who goes rather alright in AMA 600 classes).
Get to Daytona tomorrow so we'll see what he's up to
Boston --> San Diego
That's great. I can't wait to see him in action again. I know he raced a bit last year with Nixon's Pair-A-Nines in MotoST, and I was excited then.....Now that he's in the Superbike race I'm just giddy with anticipation. He's definitely one of the best from America, and certainly one of my favorites.
Nice to have you back Scott.
