So I am starting to wonder if Ben's mom (I am still so jealous she gets that honor) is a jinx,
wasn't maxs mom his mentor? oh wait, she abandoned the fam when he was a baby...explains alot a
nyway
So he runs outta gas, mechanical issue's? what up Ben?
yamaha is making the championship as hard as possible for him to win. i haven't given up hope yet, but i'm getting close.
With Fabrizio's form of late, it's going to be even harder.... I hope it leads to Ben sticking in WSBK another year to get it, he's a lot of fun to watch, but clearly is learning that it's a whole different ball 'o wax with 5+ riders of his caliber versus just one (Maladin)....
well, i think he can still do it. haga is by far one of my favorites, but lets face, the consistency he has right now is a bit forgein to him and i'm not so sure it can last all season. if spies can stay close enough in the points to keep the pressure on him, anything can happen. how pissed would haga be if fabrizio did manage to keep this up and try to steal the championship. still too early for team orders right?
ben was 2nd in qualifying by less than a tenth behind Biaggi...Haga is nearly a second slower and back in 11th. Spies should be able to do the double in Utah.
shit, just noticed...Hacking was in 6th! didnt know he was a wild card this event. FWIW..Fabrizio was in 5th by about .01 ahead of Hacker
zemke is running as well, 16th. the real fun will start tomorrow.
i didnt even see Zemke...didnt go that far down i guess,
:drink::woot:
agreed. great day for yamaha, 2-3 in GP and a double in wsbk.
great run for hacking in the first race, not so much in race 2.
kudos to haga, he is one of my favorite racers...... but i have to go with the american on the yamaha. i was hoping after hagas crash yesterday he would have been a little bit further off the pace so we could bring the points closer, guy is a trooper. i do however think ben will still do it.
as far as GP, i must say i am shocked rossi didn't win, he ALWAYS wins mugello! i would like to know what everyone is thinking, what their strategy is in these flag to flag races. such a tough call when to come in. good to see marco with another great race, not the result he was shooting for, but if rain is the great equalizer, he's proven he can still compete with the best. i hope he gets a good ride next year, i was laughing my ass off when he passed stoner (for a while).
OMFG, How great was the Spanish GP race today? I wonder the Fiat guys were going nuts that Lorenzo and Rossi might take each other out. Some great racing.
:shredder:
Most exciting final laps of a GP race ever:shredder: I'm slowly starting to calm down now after that one:woot:
Anyone catch WSBK Race 2 this weekend? Haven't seen it, but by the sounds of it it looks to be a cracker! Can't imagine it could compare to the Catalunya GP though... even better that I've ridden there :D That battle was simply one for the ages.
Watched both races last night, good battles... and both dissappointing and impressive at the same time
What a fucken weekend for Yamaha:woot:
Ya think Ben S has a chance at the championship now?:shredder:
Outstanding performance by Rossi:beerbang:
agreed 100%. the chance for ben to take the championship right now is huge.... but of course it works both ways. only take another bad weekend for the yami camp to be right back where they were. this is awesome though, i hate the fact there are only 5 more weekends in wsbk.
watched Laguna Q for MotoGP...Lorenzo crashed twice and still got pole. he highsided himself to the moon coming out of the corkscrew and Stoner Highsided in 3. guess that traction control isnt foolproof.
I don't know if it's that the traction control isn't foolproof or the fact that they just push it too much. I mean they're on the gas so hard just kind of letting the traction control keep them at the limit.
Lots of crashes though...Laguna isn't an easy track for bikes.
Just watched the Laguna Seca race....forget about the commentary...the coverage on FOX, even with their odd HD, was SO much better than what I see from SPEED. It was pretty cool...on bike shots cresting the hill and diving down the corkscrew made my stomach jump and my pee pee tickle....
When will Comcast bring HD from Speed to the game....damn
mid ohio superbike was good. some great racing when mladin is off the pace.
just a reminder, WSBK and GP will be on Speed Sunday.
Dirty bikes Saturday night if thats your thing as well.

i almost climbed through the tv and killed Biaggi in race 2
series is going to come down to the wire. they may as well be tied in the points. 3 points in this series is nothing when you have two races a weekend. between first and second is a 5 point difference. unreal. even though i didn't like seeing him in front of ben in race 2, congrats to marco, i loved the fact he went out and beat biaggi with about 5 total hours on the same bike.
