I just got this from the drummer of the band. you'll know when I do.

At first my big concern was the weather, until I just had a conversation with my Dr...For a few days I have had a swelling on my lower right abdomen, which I was not concerned about, however initial signs according to my Dr that it may be a hernia...I have an appt tomorrow afternoon to have it looked at...if it is confirmed, they may recommend limited or no physical activity for awhile. They say that if it is a hernia and it strangulates it could put me in the ER..and I cannot take that chance...I will know more tomorrow afternoon...I will keep you all posted...

That sucks, Scotty. Not to 'enhance' this thread, but Purge DI's booking agent was pushing me to get info on how to get THEM to do a gig at the track. But they're in NY this weekend...

No HUGE deal though. There'll be LOTS of beer!

I have received a couple of emails asking about my situation...so I
thought I would send this out...Unfortunately I won't know if I am a go
until about 4:00 today...my appt is not until 3:30...I would have liked
to schedule it sooner but my job comes first and it was really the best
time to schedule the appt and be able to finish up my week. I know it
cuts us pretty close as far as heads up on the show...and I feel bad
about that, but there is nothing I can do...so basically this is my
thinking...Physically I am not in enough pain to not play, so that won't
stop me...hell I have played a full show HARD, feeling much worse than
this..so I am not worried about the pain...however what will stop me is
if the doc says I RISK further damage or what is known as a
strangulation..which means if the intestine comes through the rupture
far enough it can be strangled by the muscle and if that happens a whole
host of very dangerous scenarios can play out...so I will not risk
that..but if he tells me it is minor and I can play hard and not risk
any real injury, I will be good to go..and I will seek repairing it
later..that being said..there will be no way that I will be doing any
lifting whatsoever for load in or out and I will need help getting the
gear in the trailer...so that will be the only other issue...I will call
you guys as soon as I know..
