I got my 749R back from BCM last week with some new dunlop slicks mounted on it.
I store the bike in a non-heated garage (probably 30-45 degrees most of the winter), is it ok to leave them out there for the next few months?

Manny you had better just take them off and give them to me. Seriously though don't worry about it, they'll be fine.

No idea but did you have BCM do anything else to it? They do some nice go-fast work there.

You could always put it in the livingroom![]()

oh ok, not sure if slicks require special treatment. ive always been under the impression that as long as they arent sitting on one spot of the tire on a cold floor or constantly below freezing that theyd be ok

They might be asking for your 4th child soon enough. Doesn't the 749R take those plugs that have no electrode and are like $75 each?
Are you working off the Ducati ECU or did you drop a nut on the Nemesis? I've been seriously thinking about a Nemesis but it's a grand plus I haven't started looking for someone that really knows how to tune it is making me thing otherwise.

Don't get me started on what I have spent there....
I am running the stock ECU, mapped on the dyno by kyle. I saw some nice gains in HP and the tq curve but it was a lot of cost in labour. I did it right when I bout the bike as the PO put the full system on with no adjustments so I wanted to make sure it wasn't to lean/rich etc.

Keep the sunlight off the tires as well.
Keep them insidethe winter.
I has a set of Pirelli that literally cracked in multiple areas. They were not outside. 50-55 deg basement.

Hmm... yeah... I've never dealt with them myself so take this for what it's worth (not much), but I've had a sneaking suspicion from the stories that I've heard that they seem to be charging people based more on reputation rather than their services.
I'm not saying they don't do good work or that they're not worth it, but they're certainly not doing anything to disprove the theory that Ducati's cost a shitload to maintain, that's for sure.

Hi Derek,
They were not new. 3 race weekends old and 5 track days. (I still should have gotten another 2 more race weekends and 3 more track days if they did not split
)
I talked to the Pirelli rep (Pre Boston Moto) in April 08 and he adamantly told me that I left them outside and I let them freeze. I would hope to think I would know if I left my entirely dissembled bike was outside. What comes to mind? It was a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 Pressure treated plywood in my basement that does not go below 50 degrees, thank you very much.

One thing that could harm the tires is ozone.
This can come from electric motors being near by...
Like a water pump or fan motor from a heating system...

I will tell you two stories about race tires in the winter. First they are so slippery when cold on dry clean pavement you will not believe it. Second, last winter I was getting ready to go teach at Jennings, Fl and I had some race tires in my barn on the second floor. I found a pair I wanted the just dropped them about 10 feet. The outside temp. was probably about 28 deg.F. Both the front and rear tire shattered when they hit the dirt. I could not believe that rubber would do that. It did. The best for the tires is to put them into plastic bags and keep them in a warm place away from any elect. motors or gas furnace. Both put out ozone and the tires do not like that. I also wrench at AMA events for Eric Wood and can tell you that all our race tires are in the box truck and it is not heated. Both Eric and Jeff seem to do ok on them. Jeff broke 7 or 8 all out lap records this year.
I had them mount a set of Bridgstones for me a few months back. I didn't buy them there but they still mounted them
I've heard a couple people bitch about their prices recently. Both of them were pretty new to Ducati so I just figured that it was the fact that they didn't really know that they are a little more expensive to maintain. I've personally never had a problem there, they are actually one of the few dealers I felt comfortable with. Leslie and Kyle have always been helpful and I never felt like I was getting ripped off but its been about a year since the last time I went there so maybe something changedNext time I'm up that way I'll get some quotes on a few things that I know the price of, parts and labor, and see if they went up.

Just pulled the wheels off and brought them inside. No reason to worry about it.....
