I wanted to thank all the folks who helped me this weekend with my struggles on my SV. PK continues to help me with my suspension setup, Mike with the RSP guys really went out of his way to help me get my carbs on the path to being sorted and Josh helped me turn wrenches all day as well. Sadly the end result was still 2x DNS', but that's racing. When I had the carbs apart on my gen 1 sv (stock CV carbs), Mike noted that my main jets were 138s (pretty close to stock). I have a hindle full system and a BMC race filter. This is the way I bought the bike, he felt the jets were on the small side for that setup. I'm running super sport, so no tank risers and stock air box. Does anyone have any suggestions on some jet sizes (both main and pilot) and needle shim / clip settings? I've dug around and found a lot of conflicting info!
Thanks again for all the continued help!

Other than the crazy climbing idle, how does it run on the current setup?
Nice meeting you this weekend Ed!

There's truth and charm and beauty
And strangeness everywhere
The closer we examine
The more there's nothing there
It was nice to meet all of you too. As far as the bike goes, I redid all the vacuum lines with actual vacuum tubing (not fuel line), redid the fuel line as well and balanced the carbs. Took the bike to a half day with Fishtail on Monday and the idle woes are cured and it's running like a top. It still feels super pushy on power though. I can't keep it pinned in the 7-8 transition and it is really hard to pull it back across the track. In general, it just feels lazy. Maybe it's getting used to the tires or maybe it's a geometry thing. PK setup the bike and I absolutely trust him, so I'm not sure what the deal is.
