The conclusion of a pretty exciting weekend

    Thursday:
Got to the track pretty early and got set up in the garages. Needed a new rear tire put on but nobody was set up to change tires yet, which is fine. I ended up missing my first session but wasn't too worried about it. Once I got out there my bike just didn't feel right. I thought it might be the new subframe and SB tail section that just felt weird but it turns out that I had like 5lbs too much pressure in my rear tire, easy fix. All in all ran some good laps.

    Friday:
Pretty relaxed day. I rode two sessions on my bike and felt great, then tried George Neuwirts 2005 GSXR600 (all set up) and it felt f'n awesome, I wish my bike was set up like that with the quickshift, suspension, slipper, everything...wow. I gave his bike a good flogging then Mike Shloski (sp?) had his 2006 GSXR600 in our garage that hes selling and he let me take that out for a session, HOLY CRAP. That bike and my bike should not be in the same class. I was in love. I gave that bike a proper thrashing as well.

    Saturday:
MWSS I had a decent start, got stuck behind two guys that were all over the place and held me up so my times for the first 3 laps were in the 1:18 range, then I got around the first one in 11, and the 2nd in T1 and ran a 1:16.2 (one of my best laps ever) then we got a red flag and they called the race, waste of $70.

In MWGP I was starting from the last row, right next to Martire and had a pretty good start again. He dragged me around the track while I battled with one of the bus kids behind him and we worked our way up through the traffic. Turns out I ran a 1:16.0 (personal best) before the red flag and the restart. On the restart they regrided us in place order, and I had a fantastic start...passing 5 or so bikes that were ahead of me in the race putting me like 7th or 8th into T1. As I get near the apex of the corner my rear end swung around and highsided me into the grass. Landed on my head/shoulder and tumbled yadda yadda. My right foot hurt like a bastard but I tried to walk it off. Turns out it may or may not be broken but I figure I'll give it a couple days.

The rest of the night was spent putting the bike back together over a couple beers, the bike really wasn't that bad though.

    Sunday:
I skipped first practice since my foot hurt so much, so I took some aleve and got ready for second practice. I went out and my foot didn't bother me all that much, just the bumps in T3 and T10 when I had a lot of weight on it. I decided I was ok to race. So in MWSB I go out, I come up to the grid and I can't get my bike to shift when it isn't moving (was fine if I was driving it) and I almost put my hand up but realized I was in the last row anyway and ended up starting in 2nd gear haha. I spent the rest of the race picking people off and finished just about where I normally do anyway. I never actually checked the results officially, but I did run a 1:17.0 with my foot the way it is.

I took my boot off after the race and my foot is all dark purple around my toes and stuff, and still spreading.

Its feeling a little better today though. I've also decided that I'm gunna fix both my bikes up to be in the best shape possible and sell them both to (hopefully) buy that 2006 GSXR I rode. I'm confident I could meet all of my season goals on that bike.

coming to the dark side... haha

nice times ryan, I ran my personal best (1:18:4) in the dash too...

I need to start thinking suspension, as it's starting to be a limiting factor (in addition to riding ability)

haha I never thought I'd say it, but I really was impressed w/ that bike, its really well set up. If I can find/try a newer R6 I would definitely consider it as well though.

congrats on the new best time man

People I know need to stop crashing. I will never get used to the pit in the stomach after realizing someone doesnt come around for another lap.
But good job Ryan, you're crazy man, after seeing you hobble around I couldnt even fathom why you wanted to get back on there.

i was so irritated that i crashed, one of my goals this season was to get faster and smoother, without crashes. As far as getting back out there, I sat on my bike and kinda leaned back and forth to see how much weight it could handle on the pegs and it seemed ok, i gave it a shot in practice and even though it didn't really like it...it felt ok so why not? i'm there for a reason
