So the weekend started off bad. Trailer lights gave out and kept poppin my truck fuses on the way out on Friday night. Had to reqire the entire trailer and head up at 6:00am on saturday. Good thing I did too or I woulda been pissed to find that I had forgotten my leathers in my garage.....![]()
Got the bike out, managed to get in both practices, track and tires were COLD. Didn't rip any hard laps, just got my bearings again.
LWSM came and I was CRUIZIN. Got a decent run off the start and didn't look back. Was up to 3rd with 2nd within reach with two laps left. My rear was sliding all over the place and I nearly highsided in 12. Came into the bowl with two laps to go and lost the rear end. Too much lean, not enough body position, too hot. Slid on my ass up into the gravel. Didn't hit my helmet down, yay!
Bike was pretty mangled. Broken exhaust, broken clip-on, demolished fairing, lost the radiator cap. I was fine, just a little sore on the palm of my right hand from smacking the pavement and sore on my boney ass which hit the dip in the gravel. My leathers are marked up by other than some stiching undamaged.
Managed to click off a 1:24.113 in that race. Didn't finish, but with a time like that, I'm still smiling.
Got the bike somewhat back together saturday night. Still couldn't get oil pressure though, light stayed on. Went out for dinner, had a couple margarita's and then came back and went to bed.
This morning the race is on to get oil pressure. Verified that the sensor wasn't at fault. Talked to a smart guy down in the garages who said to pull the oil filter and let it purge the air out. Sure enough, no problem, all set. Got some heat tape and somewhat fixed it with a ton of help from Riobard and mzdagirl. Was late for GTL but made it out to grid due to a red flag on the warm up lap.
Got a decent start in GTL. Was running decent enough for coming off a crash. Took it very easy to get the feel back and started opening it up a bit when another red flag showed up. Pitted in and got a new grid. Went to do the warm up lap and right away I lost a cylinder. Pitted in to find that a coil had been damaged in my crash and held on just long enough for the vibrations from riding to finish the job. DNF for the second race of the weekend, sigh....
More to come once I finish my dinner of french toast and sausage.![]()

Got set for PTwin. Replaced the coil on the bike and it ran mint again.
Got a decent start in Ptwin. Tires weren't stickin well at all throughout the whole day and the story was the same for PTwin. Me and Oreo fought each other the whole race. He lead, I lead, he lead, I lead, etc. We really weren't crankin though, too much motarded traffic keeping us from getting by. I managed to get by him and the motards on the second to last lap. For some dumb reason I have yet to fathom I just basically killed my drive on turn 10 of the last lap. Turned out Oreo was right behind me and took the chance on 11. I had no drive coming out of 12 and he took the victory due to the daring move and consistently fast riding.
I took a second to the only competition I have in Ptwins currently, and I wouldn't of wanted it any other way
Lesson #1: don't stop racing until the race is over!!!!
Good weekend, pleased with being able to hit a 1:24.113 and also pleased with a 2nd on my second race weekend.
List of things I really think I should get/do:
BETTER SUSPENSION (chattering into 1, sliding in 2, crashing in 6)
new tires (mine are old, 2+ years at least)
Tire Warmers (anyone got any used ones for sale?)
A REAL trailer, something I can sleep and stand in.

Good job guys. another impressive performance. 24.1 is rippin for your first season.
Just so you know, Alex Guilbeault is selling off his 125 at the end of the season. It's nice with a freshly rebuilt motor. One of you guys needs to grab it. Eric Yoo may also be selling. He may be moving to CA. I'm not sure though. Get some real racebikes and continue this next year! I'll help you out til you get into the 18's![]()
That's a great lap time. You guys are charging fast. Good stuff.
Great riding guy's! It's good to see how well you are doing. Keep it up!

I'll have an advantage over everyone but that Estabrook kid and Lisa!
Consider me (and Pete by association and vengeful competition) interested....![]()
And yes Darrell, racing is a veritable cornucopia of competitive enjoyment; an orgy of skillset summation and proactive brick-a-brac! (had to use veritable cornucopia in a sentence per our discussion late saturday night with the erin)
