Holy crap, we're getting priority to cars? Thats never happened in the history of motorcycles EVER!
w00h0000!
I'm on it. I'll take pics during the setup and post them up during lunch from the Media Center.
:plusone: thanks in advance palanon

I'll also be up there tomorrow to check it out. I'm excited to see what we end up with. I hope they have enough cones! I'll be doing practice for sure at some point also, weather permitting.
I will be there thursday and have onboard cam if someone wants to run practice with it and post up - watt?
I'll be there. First weekend for me. I am doing the advanced Penguin school friday so I might get a leg up on the competition. :D
I'm here doing trackdays today and yesterday. Here is no way, NO WAY that I'm racing. I wouldn't even feel safe running in a race practice.
I know many of your are running speeds a lot faster than my old vintage bike (I will hopefully be getting into the 1:29's my next week to give you some perspective) so take this for what it is worth to you. I thought the alternative configuration was fun and some people had even mentioned running it at that event every year. It slowed us down enough to enter turn 2 safely. The only problem was people knocking down cones. I know your configuration will probably be different, but I thought it was a good time. I was also kind of bummed about not having the correct lap times, but it was ok. An alternate configuration and hanging out with my buddies was better than staying home.

Denno, I'll be there Thursday. I can run the cam, I'm not practicing in the rain though.....
This is the other matter. If theres cones in places, which Im sure there will HAVE to be, Id hate for every race to get red flagged cause theres a cone in the way. And Id think after the incident last weekend at Barber aor wherever, they're going to err far to the side of caution as far as workers being on course.
Jay is also running on a setup NOT DESIGNED by Eric Wood. Just FYI since facts and rumours are just running wild. He's up there at Tony's Track Day and running a setup designed by who knows.
For you Novices and people worried about laptimes. Don't sweat it too much for your bump. Don't forget it's all relative to your competition.
Really, what would we eeeevar do if we had to race a series that goes to 3 or 4 tracks in the season... quit being so Institutionalized. You know that's one of the #1 weaknesses of Loudon Racers. They get so fucking set on Loudon they ride like shit at any other track. Whoa right turn! Whoa high speed sweeper! Whoa it's 45' wide! What do I do?!
Gauge the safety aspect for yourself but all this internet crystal ball gazing isn't helping. FYI I can't IMAGINE this new setup will be any less safe than other parts of the track..... it's not like the rest of the track is FIM approved.. the whole track is a safety concern!!
.. and this is coming from Alex Mladin himself...
I'm still on the fence, hoping to see the new set-up. It's hard to spend $1000 + a weekend as it is, so any damper on it makes it very easy to pass for me.
I believe that Eric Wood will do the best he can to make the configuration as safe as possible... at the end of the day, it doesn't matter if I trust Eric running 11's through it, he could probably run 11's around my neighborhood in a hot dog cart...
I will run a track day or non competitive pace on any configuration they throw, but I'm weary of 25 guys squeezing through a new section at speed, close the the wall. Running practice laps by yourself, and trusting 25 guys to be able to compete for that new section safely lap after lap are 2 different things.
Definitely interested in seeing the configuration, as that'll pretty much decide what I'll do. Haven't missed one yet, and I don't think Loudon will shut down if I do.
ha! That made me laugh (the hot dog cart comment). Still trying to figure out if the Alex Mladin comment is a dig or a compliment?
Kitt (and anyone else), no one is going to bag on you for not making a weekend for any reason. Money, enthusiasm, wedding, whatever. We all race for different reasons with different criteria for making is fun. If you don't feel pumped, don't get on the bike. I didn't race in the rain for my first few years up there, wasn't pumped on rain. Cold, wet, slow. Bleh! I could give a shit if other guys bagged on my for it, it was my money and my time. All good homie.
Anyone else wanna sponsor a 'Dash for Condiments' event featuring prior Dash for Cash winners and hotdog carts?
I think everyone should pass, so I can get more wood. Its my only hope.
The vintage crowd has pretty much fallen in love with the new turn, my dad and everyone else I've talked to really liked the change. Obviously LRRS will be running a different configuration, but if I were you guys I'd look at this as a great opportunity to try something [I]new[I] . And if any of you guys are like me, and usually in the mid to back of the pack, a switch up like this may give you an edge in creeping up on the competition :naughty Just sayin'
Fuck Loudon! I'm going to do this
