x2 - not sure what chris meant...
I'm super thankful for the inner circle folks who discuss what's going on on here - I'd hate to be one of the people coming from 6+ hours away and being surprised at the gates all the time.

Re: Thinking of passing on weekend 3.... anyone else?
Yeah, I just checked the NEAR list to see what they had to say about this issue, and there's barely any discussion on it. For better or for worse, NESR is quickly becoming the de facto place to discuss LRRS racing. And thanks to Johnny B, we can get the occasional fact to go with our usual mess of flaming and conjecture :D

The only decent piece of info in either of the two threads was from Johnny B and other "in the know" folks, basically saying "we don't know what it will look like yet, and we'll let you know with photos when we do know". End of story.
Other than that, it's a bunch of people, as usual, getting worked up about misinformation and speculation. I need to sign up for that NEAR list thing because it sounds like a place to get actual info minus all the NESR retardation.
Like the no power thing last weekend. Fucking retarded.
Hey guys I heard there will be no power in the garages, no running water, no PA, and the race line is going to be diverted through the tunnel.
Now let's all get worked up about it and type 3 page diatribes about how this sucks.

I think you mean, 'in the don't know'.
So what are you contributing here. Your posts aren't informitive or on topic, they're just bitchy. Tylenol for headaches, midol for cramps.

Gary Nixon would be ashamed of all of you.

The conversation was never "we're going to run the line from the trackday"
the conversation was - anyone else not going since they are trying to alter the race line, potentially unsafe, never sent out e-mails about it, just throwing whatever they want because they racers are so tough they'll race through anything?
C'mon.
CEO - I've run 18 consecutive weekends and been fortunate enough to keep the rubber side down with 2 wet lowsides, not 2 weekends w/ multiple crashes... the point being, I am dedicated financially and mentally to racing, but I try to be consistent and safe while doing so. I pay for my house (and racing) by going to work every day, not racing LRRS. so making a claim that the thread I started to see what other people were doing is "retarded" is somewhat ignorant.

Re: Thinking of passing on weekend 3.... anyone else?
Just to clarify something about the setup we ran for Motomarket and TTD's.
A few of us were given about 10 tire wall sections, a bunch of cones... and about one hour.... and told "make it safe". We worked as fast as possible knowing there were a bunch of paid trackday participants itching to ride.
Seeing as no one hit a wall or got injured in any way over 3 days... I think we accomplished the goal.
However, I would imagine the setup Eric and Co. comes up with will be far better and designed for the goal of racing. Will it be "safe"?
That's always subjective...

Gary Nixon, the man, the myth, the legend. Gary Nixon is a real racer, and sure as f*ck wouldn't be whining like a little baby about a couple different turns added in.
Gary Nixon would show up, roll out his bike, smoke about a carton of cigarettes, win every race he entered, and probably bang your girlfriend / wife in between (along w/ every other short-skirt in the paddock).
From this article...:
"Ask one Ervin Kanemoto Jr. about his old comrade Nixon and he'll smile for a moment, thinking of their times in Europe in the seventies and only say, "He's really not the quiet type." Kanemoto's chief US racing liaison—Gene Mellard pipes in, "Gary Nixon's a real racer. They were a different breed back then and Nixon just personifies what it was like to be a racer in the sixties and seventies, only more so. He's a real honest to God racing hero and living legend" Nixon, a former Grand National Champion also is America's first real world champion, although the title was stolen from he and Kanemoto after they'd won it"

If it'd only pass tech. :(

Either way, Nixon is still the man.
