    Pit ammenities for the Classic?

Anyone hear or know if there will be restored power in the pits outside of the garages? The T1-T2 configuration? I haven't heard anything.

The track is being completely 'fixed' from Thursday - Monday in preparation for the Classic. There is no on-track activity for those 5 days until Tuesday's Penguin School. Just construction workers working away like crazy ants.

The change from Thursday to Tuesday this past week was pretty immense. Those guys get some shit done.

My guess is the infield will be 'fixed' and there will be a new T1 - T2 section.

I'll admit, those workers are not fucking around. When I left from Tony's last Wednesday, they were still working at like 5:30PM.

Given the state of the infield at the last event, I can't see that they'll have power/etc anywhere other than the bathrooms.

Don't say that! I REALLY don't want to run without warmers... no particular reason

You're in the garages, power isn't an issue for you. : )

Although, it would be nice to have power to my tent again for a change, have to see what transpires in the next week.

I misunderstood you, I took your post as saying you didn't think there would be power to the garages either. I'm really, really fond of warm tires as of late, so that'd be a bummer. As long as it's in the garages and the bathrooms it seemed most people were making do with cords and splitters, depending where you set up you could prob scab power off one of those sources for your tent if you really wanted. Bring a splitter and plenty of extension cord...

Something else they are doing is lowering the "upper" pit lane to the same level as the "hot" pit lane. This is in response to input from NASCAR concerning the hazards of going over the wall during a pit stop with two different levels of pavement.

    Nope.
I'm not sure on this but I think I saw them putting electrical boxes along the inner pit wall down where it was already dug up. This will be handy for the tire warmers and such, also saving me the aggravation of running a long cord to the chain link fence when setting up the PA for the riders meeting. (No more trying to clothesline Group 9 riders coming out for their session for shitz 'n' giggles while setting up.)

Wuss. Just hammer in the warm-up lap (when not at full lean) & don't go completely balls to the wall like you're an expert in turn 1. Gets em warm enough by turn 3 on the opening lap.

Not that runnning w/o warmers is gonna be an issue though.

Warm up lap, THAT'S what I was doing wrong! Turns out that if you hammer right out of the pits they won't be warm enough by T3 on the out lap. Who would have thought?

Fortunately it seems to be agreed upon the garages will have power, so none of this will be an issue.

Anyone know the prices for weekend passes? Same as the rest of the year, or the traditional classic price bump?
