cool bro. I like that explaination a little more. Before it sounded like you were saying Biggles was partly at fault, now you're just calling him slow which is ok![]()

Two cents: Track time with a seasoned expert giving you advice is always a good thing. It helped me, it'll help you.
No, more like you didn't have room to be offensive.

All I have to say on this topic is that I am glad I don't have to ride with you in LSPM class anymore.
Either way do some track days. Track time is the only way to get better. Also try to race and have a good time. It's not about winning all the time. set some goals for yourself. braking markers, turn in points, apex's. Work on these. Get smooth and winning will come to you. It's not always about winning.
Good luck C-Man.

Exactly. Sometimes you get into pinch situations when you really didn't want to be. Just try to keep an eye out and be ready to change your line or hit the brakes. I've had to do it more times than I can count for someone in front of me that did something completely unexpected. Build in an escape route or a little extra space.
You aren't doing anything horribly wrong, you are a fast rider, just need to give a little more wiggle room out there, that's all. If someone moves into your "personal space", adjust so you get it back.

It's not always possible. Sometimes shit just happens. Just try to keep it in mind, that's all.
You may not be as fast laptimes wise if you are a little more agressive on keeping your personal space, holding clean lines, making clean precise passes and waiting for the right opportunity, but you sure will finish more races than someone who doesn't do those things. A pass or carrying speed or going 4 wide into a corner isn't worth anything if you don't finish the race!
Alright, I'm done spouting mindless safety drivel. See ya in a couple weeks![]()

No, not quite done yet.
I think you may be too eager to pass or hold a position from being passed. Remember, if someone passes you, either they are just plain faster (which is OK) or you can pass them back when your time comes. The races are long and I find I do MUCH better when I space things out and play the patience game. Especially when following someone who is near your same speed or even slightly slower, don't just go crazy on them with passing all over the place. Get that late apex into 2 and go on the inside of them, or stay on their ass until the braking zone of 3 and go inside safely. Or go a little wider in the bowl to swing out and pass on the outside of 8. Or hug 9 a little tighter and pass on the outside of 10 into the braking zone of 11. There are tons of places to pass, just gotta plan ahead. Plan WAY ahead. Execute and decide before it's too late if it is realistic or not. I usually have my pass thought up 3 turns before I execute. This gives me a chance to get as close as possible to the rider in front of me, start setting up a different line that will put me in a position to overtake and get a good clean pass. There have been countless times when I've had the drive/line/etc but backed off halfway through a pass because I wasn't sure if the other racer saw me, had the ability to react or just wasn't a safe person to pass. I didn't plan the pass I put on Pete three weeks ago, never expected him to go that wide and just tried to wing it halfway through a committed turn when I saw the door open. I'll never do that again without really thinking, that's for sure.
Ok, now I think i'm done.

Thanks for the advice. I will try to put all your suggestions into play the next weekend.
Conor
If you do come to one of our TrackDays, keep in mind that you'll be watched closely and you will not be given any slack.
One complaint from another rider CAN get you booted.
A complaint from a Control Rider or one of our Pro Cornerworkers WILL get you booted.
This goes for all racers that attend our events.
We hold racers to a higher standard and we don't let many in. Most of the ones that you see at our events have started as a NON RACER and they progressed up to racing.
They know what we expect and they use the day to work on a section or two, or just ride with NO PRESSURE.
This is not just addressed to you, but to any racers that might be reading this that are thinking of coming to one of our events.
