So I guess I should start racing!
I'm doing a track day on August 23rd and then I think penguin at the end of September. I would like to do it soon but work conflicts.
When you go to the track to race on the weekends, can you use the garage the same as at Tonys? Or is it more you pick a spot on the feild and hang there. If this is true, is there anywere specific I should go to meet some of youse guys? I don't wanna be a loner out in the middle by myself.

Congrats! Welcome to the madness.
Garages are rented for the season, so it's unlikely anyone will let you squat for free. Bring a canopy or ask around for any garage space you may be able to rent for the weekends you'll be there.
A lot of the racers here set up along the access road near the tunnel. You'll meet plenty of people if you're somewhat sociable. most anyone will help you out if you ask...
I'm in Center Garage #4
Thanks for the info.
500's usually run two races from what I have read, please correct me cause I have a feeling I'm wrong. There is the production twin race, and is it the light weight race?
I'll get in touch with kip![]()

Can you camp at the track during race weekends if I'm too lazy to drive back to lowell, or would I be getting a room at the RRI?

Yes, you can camp in the infield at no extra cost (unless you use electric) but be aware the weather turns quick so plan ahead for anything from rain, high winds, hot humid days, cold nights and even in some cases... snow![]()

Hell ya, Camp at the track.
EX500s are good to go in ProdTwins, LightwtSportsman, GTL, and even do well in a few other classes at the novice level. As you advance to Amatuer and Expert your options for "competitive" classes, meaning something you could win, are eventually reduced to PTwins...

Last season it rained one day for a good hour and someone had one of those cell phones that you can get the weather radar on, there was one green spot in all of new england and it was parked directly over NHIS![]()

add another one to the madness, NESR is taking over the track.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Actually it's pretty fun racing with someone you know and on the same bike. For instance I started this May and I knew two guys racing in my class with Hawks (Gene Berrio and Bob Stone). It's cool because even thou they were faster and more experience than I was... I would follow them and say "Well shit he made the corner at that speed on the same bike I have with the same tires" and gave me confidence to do the same. (even thou I was a newb).
You guys will have a blast.
Boston --> San Diego
I can't wait either. I wish my schedual was a little better so I could get a few race weekends in this summer, but it looks like I'll only make one or two.

Workload for sale. Job sale possibility. Caretaker needed for housework and entertaining kids. I need some time back.
A steady job and a family has ruined many a good biker.

But you can try like hell and it's fun to overtake some guys an the bigger bikes and leave them wondering how that peice of crap got by!
