WOW! I can't wait until tomorrow night when I finally get to watch all the racing from Daytona in PRIME TIME!! Or, rather, when I get to see all of the racing at Daytona spliced into a one-hour show (42 minutes of actual coverage?) starting at 11 p.m. on a show called "AMA Prime Time."
Now that is change I can believe in! Thank you, DMG!
And Fontana is "on" starting March 28!
I hate DMG and Speed. The coverage is pathetic this year. At least they aren't slicing and dicing WSBK and MotoGP

If people knew the actual viewer numbers from last year they'd be happy we even have a camcorder at the track this weekend taping it. Numbers from last year, with same day / same week coverage was unbelievablely small. Microscopic even.
Enjoy the show.

I'm not sure that I need to be happy with the new coverage. Seeing full coverage slashed to a one-hour recap is quite a change. I'm still paying a large premium to get Speed, albeit now with less of what I pay for. That's not exactly a reason to be happy or content in any way with the programming. The only reason I'm keeping Speed at this point is for WSBK and MotoGP. I'll tune in for the abbreviated AMA show, but will continue to be disappointed by the change.

yeah its kind of a tough spot for the network. not a lot of viewers, but the coverage sucks. you would like to hope the number of viewers would improve if the coverage improved, but thats a big gamble.

back in the day when it was speedvision two wheel tuesday was motorcycles all day. SX,MX,AX,GP,AMA,WSBK,WSS,IoM,250,125,500,600...it was awesome that no matter what time of day i turned it on i had racing to watch. i used to leave it on all day.
while i like the fact that they are doing this...11pm? seriously. you want more viewers and then you throw it on in the middle of the night? i wish speed would go back to its roots and show everything other than NASCAR. they should just have a NASCAR channel and leave speed to the rest of the motorheads.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the small viewer numbers was due to a couple of factors -- for one thing, the racing (at least what was shown) sucked. I don't want to watch a race that's decided in the first couple of laps. Another major factor would be the coverage -- Speed is horrible, and seems to be getting worse. Who the fuck puts a commercial break in the last couple laps of a WSBK race when the battle for the podium is as intense as Qatar? I can understand it a little more if it's live coverage, but COME ON. The races are taped. The producers know what's going to happen. Don't time a commercial break to coincide with a pass for the lead (Phillip Island)!
Dead on. The AMA superbike racing has sucked to watch the last couple seasons. Boring. Even if the new DMG setup is going to make it better, it's going to be hard to get a large audience to watch a highlight show at 11pm weeks after the racing has happened and everyone knows the results anyway. So if ratings are even lower this time around than last year why would they improve coverage of the 'better' racing next season and beyond? Something seems a little fucked...
You nailed it. Speedvison had everything from lawnmower racing and swamp buggy mayhem to F1 and ALL motorcycle racing - including speedway.
2wheel tuesday was the reason I got it to begin with. Who cares about Pinks or that Unique Whip garbage? I want to see some racing dammit. NASCAR definitely should have it's own channel - not Speed either.

Oh there are a lot of places to point fingers at.
I've been in the paddock the last two days. So much insanity man.... I'm just keeping my head down and doing my job. Our team has both riders on the front row so we're happy. Point us to the starting line and we'll be there ready to race.
