Like the title says. Which of you current 600cc MW guys are going to line-up at a AMA race this year?
In case you missed it, the AMA changed Supersport for 2010. Last year Supersport was only for 16-21 year olds and was the series development class. Well it's still the development class, but now it's open to all riders with a Expert club license. The class will now score points for Young Guns (16-21) and Top Guns (22+). It will be one wave but again, scored separate.
So yup. Who's going to go for it at VIR or NJ? If I had a 600cc bike that fit the AMA Supersport rules I'd do it.
Boston --> San Diego
i have been thinking about going to attempt to qualify. I wanna do NJMP at the end of the season, all depending on money etc. Question: I know you obviousy need to be expert. Isnt there a minimun of expert races needed to compete. I havent dug too deep into it.
Here's the rulebook homeboy http://www.amaproracing.com/assets/A...R-Rulebook.pdf
I'm 99% sure you only need a Regional Expert license to be eligible for the Supersport class. That's the whole point of it. In order to get a AMA National Pro Expert license (Daytona Sportbike) or AMA Superbike (ASB) you need to meet some requirements. Not so with Supersport.
Boston --> San Diego
thanks, i knew where to find it i just havent looked it over. If i make the trip, you wanna go? it would be nice to have someone with knowledge of the event/requirements there.
I'm going to be at both VIR and NJ one-way or another. (with either Michael Jordan Motorsports or Jeff). So I'll for sure be around to help get your head around the paddock and how it works in the AMA. Feel free to drop me a email/PM at anytime if you have some questions. Or just bump this thread.
FWIW I think it's completely worth it for Regional Experts. Both VIR and NJ had great turnouts last year. I can't imagine what it'd be like to ride infront of 20-30 thousand people but I sure would like to try it! Also be pretty wicked to be in the same paddock at the top guys... wild.
Boston --> San Diego
unforunately it isnt insomnia (i guess)

Section 4.2
Displacement capacities:
i. 4 cylinders 749cc up to 1000 cc 4-stroke.
ii. 2 cylinders 901cc up to 1200 cc 4-stroke
So maybe im just really tired as it's 4:40am, or maybe i'm just really new to this whole AMA scene... WAIT it's a combo of both! But how are you going to run your 600cc bike in the AMA series?? It doesn't seem to fit.
