it is time to ride B!TCHEZ !
I think rg500 from here witnessed it. I was talkign with him yesterday. He was at that track day.
Hit him up.
I guess he went over the fence into one of the other turns or something like that.
Heal up man.
KB
just an update.
they were able to re-infalte his lung, but he has no memory of the track day, crash, and most of the day before...
he is out of ICU for now though
it is time to ride B!TCHEZ !
I am glad to hear Bryce is OK, and on the mend.
I was there. I didn't see the crash but I rolled through right after it. I have spent a lot of time at the track and this was the worst wreck I have ever seen. Way worse than that Ducati last week.
Apparently he got a little sideways exiting the bowl, and then was the victim of a vicious tankslapper. There were visible big black zig zags exiting the bowl. The bike was in many pieces in front of the treehouse and the rider was pitched over the tire wall into turn 4.
Only one rider saw the crash. I hate to say it but from what I heard from other riders he was pushing way to hard all day. I only saw him on the track once.
The Crash happened at 4:00. We never heard anything about his condition other than that he was conscious in the ambulance.
Team Pro Motion did a good job of getting the track cleaned up and people back on the track. Although it was the end of the day for me.
I can't help but think that a steering damper might have prevented this.
I don't know Bryce but I wish him a speedy recovery, and I hope to see him out there again.

Wow, he went over the wall into 4?
Hope he makes out ok.
I know a little about everything, and alot about nothing.
People focus on the more obvious walls at NHIS, but the turn 8 hill is an even nastier place to crash, because of the combination of a cresting hill and the speed (fast riders are well over 100 mph). This is why Tony's TD don't allow passing there.
Feel better, Bryce.

Hope he comes through it OK.
Sounds like he was improving from some of the posts![]()
This is the kind of stuff I try to get through everyone's head during the morning meeting... and throughout the day.
This is SERIOUS SHIT we do!
If you are an aggressive rider on the track, now's the time to get that steering damper!
And never forget when you're out there that things can turn ugly real fast.
This goes for the track and the street!
I spoke to Bryce tonight, he called me from home.....
he sends his sincerest thanks to those who helped him. he was truly impressed with the track officials and cornerworkers etc etc..
His injuries ( as best I can recall him telling me)
10 ribs broken total (between the front and back)
Punctured lung
lacerated spleen/liver
concussion from hell
no rash
and whole lots of bruising
he was MES'd to Concord, which he said he was very happy with the way they treated his injuries...
the GEAR did its JOB !
Barnacle Bill custom race suit- cut off by docs...
Back protector- did its job, he is not paralyzed
KBC VR-4 helmet-
severely rashed combined with wearing a mouth guard which he was told saved him from breaking his jaw and disintegrating his teeth....
boots and gloves saved his joints from breaking
he says he has a clear CT/head scan from his doc back home, but they have him on some serious meds...
it is time to ride B!TCHEZ !
Me too.
Was wondering if the basic one's at Dick's are good enough?
never even thought about a mouthguard. maybe I'll try one out this weekend.Originally posted by 35racer

I tried racing with a mouthguard when I started--made heavy breathing difficult.
I picked one up at walmart a couple weeks ago. just need to mold it. I was told it also keeps your from getting dry mouth.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
A basic guard will do it. Just cut it to fit and put it in boiling water to soften it good, then, as soon as you can stand it, put it in you mouth and bite down hard. Press the edges inaround your gums and you're all set.
My dad was a dentist and used to custom make my guards for hockey. Wish I had that option now!
hmm... interesting

Did you put it in with your helmet on and run around the neighborhood to see if you could still breathe?
i was hoping nobody saw that.Originally posted by 35racer
