i just found out about this yesterday. our Serv. manager races up there. he was telling me the "track" won't allow race fuel purchased outside of the track??? we sell VP C12 out of 55 gal. drums. it's the same fuel from the same supplier. he can buy it cheaper from us. why can't he use it? and why the hell is a knife being held to your throats about contingency? i bet the contingency, at least for him in Motard class, is less then what you'll pay for 10 gals. of fuel a weekend. who the hell is going to burn 10 gals. of fuel in a weekend?...let alone 5 gals.! i told him to use what we have and let them test it. if it doesn't test the same as what's provided at the track I'd cry foul.
can't we all just get along? the snake. ssssss!
Bob, read Mike Martire's post on page 6 of this thread (5th from the bottom). It explains the whole rule and why it is recommended that the fuel be purchased at the track rather than from any other VP source.

So what is the fine if I get caught running Aknad's cash only 2.25 a gallon psuedo 93 octane shit????
Or is that to be determined and implimented at time of infraction so that the LRRS pocket gougers can make maximum cash???
Seems more and more that unless your Expert, turning sub 20's, you don't matter.

bobr, it's because they have a contract...and anyone with a half a brain knows that $$$$$ and more $$$$$ is involved in any contract.
What they are telling is, you can either take it up the ass dry or go find another organizion to race with
oops, there I go again!!!

I dont think it will be a big deal for us average guys there is know friggin way they have the time and resourses to be checking everyones fuel ! They have enough problems just putting together a race weekend ! But who knows stranger things have happend.![]()
You can buy the fuel from an outside source (c12 or ms93.1), if you can get it. You WILL be legal(if it passes the test), just not eligible for contingency. It is recommended to buy from the truck at the track so you know you have a fuel that will pass the test.
You can buy 3 gallons a weekend if you want. You WILL be legal, just not eligible for contingency.
C'mon guys, this isn't that tough
i still dont get how buying 5 gallons @ $3.25 is supposed to SAVE me $$. i can fill up w/ pump gas lets say $2.50
3.25 x 5 = 16.25
2.50 x 4 = 10.00
off the bat im out 6 bucks
now
16.25 x 8 weekends = 130
10.00 x 4 weekends = 40
so in the long run im out 90 bucks
this of course is assuming that i dont win any contingency. since i doubt i will WIN any races this year i will get $10 for finishing 2-6. this is good if i do it for the 2 races that i do and win $20 each weekend that puts me up
20 x 8 =160
whoo fuckin hoo im up 30bucks... for the season![]()
this of course is also assuming that not only will i finish in the top 6 but VP is actually paying out for my classes.. both of them.
sure i can buy a couple gallons here and there when i need it but then i get $0 in contingency (if they are paying) and im spending more than usual.
its still a bunch of bullshit no matter how they try to spin it. if this VP gas is revolutionary and not as dangerous/toxic as pump gas then why isnt it at the pump already?
we are getting fucked... again. they will enforce stupid rules that seem to protect no one but not the ones that are already written to protect us all. (bellypans, wheelies, etc..) i know i go on and on about bellypans but you know what... i dont like visiting friends in the hospital and i hope i never have to throw another benefit for any of you even though i would. i wish they would stop trying to fool us... whats the real reason. im not buying the explanation im getting. even if it is entirely true, maybe more time and $$ should have been spent on track safety and less on this crap
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

I am new and maybe I don't understand it fully but this sound about how I feel.
I am gonna run 2-3 races I know I won't use 5 gallons a weekend and on the off chance (VERY OFF CHANCE) that I place in the top 6 I won't see any money..... What am I saying! I am a NOVICE and we don't get any money! (Right?) Well I guess I am just paying for more expensive gas for nothing then?
I guess I will consider it paying my dues, I am with Scott on this. I may not like it but I will support it because smarter people than me have made the decisions...wild horses couldn't keep me away.![]()
