Dani, Dani, Dani.... it's also for OUR IMMEDIATE health, not just the health of the planet. When was the last time you refueld or sat on top of a jumbo jet while idling in the pits & had to deal w/ the fumes? Not to mention neither you nor I know how the chemical properties of Jet A and VP compare, but i'd be willing to guess Jet A burns cleaner w/ less harmful chemicals per gallon burned.... but now i'm assuming certain things to be true when maybe they aren't just like you. ;)

I'm not trying to upset anyone or anything like that but......
Honestly guys, is it really THAT big of a deal??? Who does it really hurt??
If you have a legitimate problem with this new rule, PM it to me and I will present it.

Good post Mike. Who would have thought racers were such a philosophical bunch? It's not going to create a hardship for a single racer and yet the "principle" of it is what's bothering these guys.
Oh yeah, thanks for all you do for LRRS! :)

Exactly the point!!!

Anyone else catch this,
"This switch is now possible because Woodco researchers have come up with a new formulation called Woodco 260 GTX. This new formula still provides great racing performance but without damaging LRRS engines like common unleaded racing fuels do."
Looks like this is just a little more cha ching for the Woods, nothing more. Pretty soon they will make you buy everything from them, no outside vendors at all. No outside foods either, they may contain too much trans fat that would also be unhealthy. You will now have to buy the NHIS approved Woodco burger and Woodco power-up bar :ill: And don't forget the Gaterwood, you might get thirsty.
If they are that concerned about peoples health they should improve the track to make it safer. Oh, wait a min.. That would mean that they would have to spend money instead of rake it in, nevermind bad idea.

Too bad for anybody with a VP sponsorship, if such a thing exists. I say subject people to random tests and stiff fines, but don't limit them to one gas station. Maybe just Sunoco, for instance, but not just ONE Sunoco station. *shrugs*

Uh, you have to be kidding? Pinhead, that post was a satire... a joke. No one is making money on this deal...
VP sponsorship?! Don't even get me going. Has ANYONE ever seen a dollar of VP contingency money? I know I haven't.

I stopped running VP because they never sent me a dime of contingency money. My lap times were not affected at all.

don't worry about it, i've chosen to stop replying to this retardedly controversial topics that desn't directly affect me in any way shape or form.
I can't believe shit like this can so easily devide the racing community.

I don't care about the rule regulating the fuel. Just bothers me that I have to use a certain gas station. That typically means now two stops for fuel on the way up. If it was a certain brand (Mobil is a big name) at any gas station, alright, I can see that. But one station? Just rubs me the wrong way.
Gotta be a way just to check for the bad stuff over just a certain brand.....

My bike likes 87 pump gas, so me likey!!!
I heard rumors that you will only be allowed to drink one type of beer, and that you can only get it at one store! But it is healthier and Better for the environment per the brewer.

 see that's a rule that WOULD affect me
Oh wait, I already drink Wachuset :twofinger (Hey if i didn't say it, Clayton would :D)

Does anyone have a problem with this rule, other than the one specific gas station part?
Wow! Spec fuel announcement
fwiw, I've gotten hundred of dollars from VP in the past. Never had problems collecting from them at all.
Wow! Spec fuel announcement
Nope, all I can hope for is specific brand. That's fair enough for me, even if it's Hess.
Wow! Spec fuel announcement
Actually...If you wanna still run U4 or whatever you like ...feel free. If everyone collectively said fuck that and ran their choice brand of gas. who gives a shit if they take away your $2 piece of shit trophy?
That's only if they actually test too.

What I posted was a joke, there is no woodco. Edith!
As I see it the issue is; toxicity, price of fuel, and what is happening on the higher race level (jet fuel showing up in the AMA and nascar pits).
Some experts claim to spend $30-50/gal (is that right Mike?) right here on the club level. If you don't want to be competitive, you don't have to run the ultra-high oxegenated formula, but if you want a championship....
So, we need less toxic, less expensive fuels. To make it even, everyone must comply. It is easy to regulate the infield fuel pumps. But that does not lower the price for low octane users, thus, the local (major brand) retailer.

I was hoping someone would clear up the woodco thing and how ridiculous it was:D . Does everyone really believe what they read on the internet?:poke:
Yes, this rule does affect me directly, but I like it. The fuel I was using had recently jumped up to $37 per gallon. I know 37 is a cool number and all, but not for a gallon of gas:D :D. I had to use it though, just so I could keep Scott and Jeff in sight until the end of the race. Some of the stuff being used at AMA events was $500.00(FIVE HUNDRED) per gallon. You gotta be out of your mind!!!
Remember, this whole thing is more of a health issue. The monetary benefits are just a bonus.
NO ONE is making money on this deal, any thoughts like that are just plain ridiculous.

Lew, its not hard to win VP money, just have to be lucky. They paid for 1st, 5th, 10th, and 15th.
I also used to sign up with them down at Daytona, don't know if that paperwork was the 'official' stuff that got checks sent to me.
