    WTBorrow - Chain Tool

    Hey all,

I want to put new sprockets and a new chain on the bike first weekend. I have said sprockets and chain at the track in my camper. I'll be there Thurs AM to Tues. if that TTD happens. Until TTDs stop happening (mon?) otherwise.

Anyone that's going to be there have a chain breaker that they'd either loan me or use to break a chain for me? I know personally with bicycle tools I'd rather do it than loan my tools, so either way. Much thanks.

If you weren't a million freakin miles away from me, you'd be welcome to borrow my chain breaker.

Thanks a ton dude! I'll have to search you out Friday night.

Dremel can't hurt as a backup, but I don't expect to need it. I have a dremel with diamond cutting discs and a die grinder. If those won't get it off, something went horribly wrong and I probably shouldn't be working on my own bike.

edit: If you need anything Fri come find me, I'd be glad to help. Garage 12 (closest to the tunnel) and the orange #319 bike.

well I know my tool says not to use it to break bigger chains (520+ I think) and recommends grinding off the heads of a couple rivets then using the tool to push it out. that's what I've done in the past. I have plenty of cut off discs so I'll bring both as long as I remember.

I've got all that if you need a back-up and I used the method decribe by CBR929. You should be able to find me pretty easy, we'll be wearing matching shirts.
