This should be cool. Marco Simoncelli will race an aprilia superbike alongside Biaggi at Imola. Are his chances for the 250 crown gone? I'm not up on the points in 250

Coming off a 250 and putting it on the box on a strange 1000cc bike with strange tires is definitely an indication of the level in the 250 class. And also that 250s are a great platform for producing great riders. I'm not sure the new 600 class will be as good for that. Time will tell.

BTW, that aprilia likely has more HP than a motoGP bike.

Not to mention a track he'd never seen before, and that he only got 5 practice sessions, one of which he had to use for qualifying. Yup, he's gonna' be fun to watch in MotoGP for sure.

I couldn't believe how fast he was on a new bike and track. Being an Aprilia guy I only wish they signed him to ride the RSV4 next year instead of honda getting him for MotoGP.

Ben Spies did it as well, but he at least had lots of superbike experience. Next year will be most interesting with those 2 going to motogp.
