hhmmmm. class is getting more interesting.
LRRS EX #165 (formerly)
Had to be something interesting going on for them to put it out to the mass market the way they did. 40 production bikes at tracks for a track day smells like Buell Spirit.
bwahahaha too bad they will be at the back of the pack. just not the same as let's say Buell that had an impresive out of the box racer in the 1125R. the Katoooom SD Isn't that impressive and after riding it out at Mid Ohio it did not change my mind on any level.
But hey they are doing it ...... all the luck to them

I dont think its KTM as much as the dealer Tri Valley Moto ... I am sure KTM helped them threw the homologation process and is happy their bike is now allowed in the field... but I suspect the TriValley Team is who wants to go racing and I am sure they would like to race it during the MOTOGP/AMA weekend.
For those who dont know.. the bike is ridden by former LRRS Champion Eric Gulbransen. Eric used to live on Long Island and raced for many years with LRRS. He packed up and moved his family to California back in 02 or 03.... and was racing Ducati's and is now involved with the KTM / Tri Valley Team racing with the AFM.
check him out at www.gotagteam.com
Cool Scott thanks for the 'inside' info .... always good to hear about former local guys going big ... ger

The California-based Tri-Valley Moto team and rider Eric Gulbransen will field the No. 394 KTM 990 Super Duke in Sunday's AMA Pro Daytona SportBike final.![]()
interesting they didnt pick the RC8....not available?
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

So it looks cool, also looks like he's getting passed on the outside... : )
A little odd considering the riding position and intent of the bike (look at the photo DB posted)... still cool though
More of a hooligan/streetfighter type bike... more of a street bike sorta?

Eggggsactly Chris, for a bike to be competitive there are certain attributes that make easy winners ..... this bike is going to require the likes of a GREAT rider to overcome the disadvantages of the bike to stay up with the 'pack' and or podium. This bike needs Gino
not to say this isn't a good street bike that has a niche buuuuut to race it seems about as good as trying to wash your foot with a sock on.
