Hello All,
I had my bike up on the stands and I was intrested in changing my own fluids and then only bringing it to my shop for end of season and pre season work till I own it a little whild longer. It seems as if I would have to remove the fairing to drain the oil can any one confirm if I "have to or not". As I dont want to damage my clips holding the fairing. Thanks All.

Usually fairings have to come off to change oil. Change the filter too

Glthe GSXR manual says to change the filter eery other oil change, but changing it every oil change wot do you any harm.
You shouldn't have to remove any OEM bodywork to drain the oil, only if you're changing your oil filter.

And don't drain the oil on stands. Use the kickstand to drain. Then stand tge bike straight up to drain put any leftover oil that might still be in the oil pan.
Where are you located, people here are probably willing to help including me....But Jim is right about the whole fairings only coming off when the filter is changed
Take the side off change the filter and Use OEM stuff.....takes all of 5-10 Min...If that

I have a GSXR 1K, and I do not remove the fairings for my oil change - even for the filter. Perhaps I have a little more room, but it is possible for me to remove the filter and install a new one by going through the right vent hole. Use a tightly ratcheting ratchet, because you won't have much swing room to get the ratchet to click and lock.
