Anybody run a chain oiler? I always made fun of these, but I'm churning through chains on my winter bike from all the salt and shit, so I'm considering one.
Don't want to spend big money on one. I found the "Loobman" one which is cheap, but haven't found a good source to buy it.
I've got an old ScottOiler (version 7 I think) that I'd let go for real cheap if you want to try it.

I ran Scott Oiler on my old Tiger. Some things are nice about it, others suck.
My current Tiger and the dirty toy don't have one. I went back to just spraying it every now and then. Sometimes I spray it a few times a day on trips likes this. Over 10k on the current chain and that's 're chain that saw the Translab.

I'm running a Scottoiler on my Wee, also ran one on my KLR.
I won't ever run another after the Wee is gone. Just not worth the mess.
The Scottoiler is best as leaving a puddle of oil on my garage floor and making the back of my bike a complete mess. Doesn't help lube the chain much. Not sure how the hell it manages that.

Thanks for the insights. I don't have a chain guard on the bike in question, so that might get messy in a hurry. It also gets parked in a different spot in my garage every night, so it's not like I could leave cardboard down.
I'll keep looking into it...keep the opinions coming!

Drip rate isn't consistent. Using a mix of oil/atf. Using the dual nozzle upgrade to drip right onto the chain sideplates.
Nothing comes out while riding, or it just flies off onto my wheel/fender.
Puddle after every ride under the bike. The unit itself is located in my tool tray under the seat, so it's not completely upright. That may be hurting me. Finding a good place to mount it on a wee wasn't the easiest thing.

Clayton just sucks so much that it keeps dispensing until he vacates the garage.

I've heard nothing good about the dual nozzle outlets, except the hype to get you to buy one.
single nozzle, on the sprocket, not the chain, pick a viscosity and brand and stick with it, I use Walmart Supertech Dextron III
in winter, I mix in a little K1 and let it get a little sloppy

I had an issue on my SV650, my original routing of the vacuum line had it too close to the exhaust, melted it right in half while running, sealed both sides so that I didn't have a vacuum leak, and my Scottoiler wouldn't shut off
