Blown Motor SV650, Help before trackday!

So, having great fun at the last NHIS Penguin Track experience when my new to me '02 SV650 made a bad, bad noise climbing out of turn 6. Seems the crank and rods decided to chew on each other. Full of oil and water/wetter, not sure why this happened. So much for a reliable, low maintenance bike... Anybody have advice on repair vs. replace, or a lead on a motor? I think 03-06 works with modification, 99-02 a direct fit. I really don't want to eBay an unknown motor, and can't justify OEM replacement parts. Going back to TTD on the 18th, any ideas folks?

The fact that a motor has oil and water doesn't mean that shit won't spin / bind up. Sometimes wear and other contaminants come into play.

Best bet. Find something wrecked and buy it. I'm sure you can get parts for what you have, but it prolly won't be cheap or fast.

I have a junk motor that has similar issues if you end up needing any parts I'd let it go pretty cheap.
