A friend of mine recently lost one of his ignition modules on his 1983 Honda V-45 Magna. It appears as though they are not available any more. He has called several dealers and received the same "Not available" response. The owner is an older gentleman, and I offered to search E-Bay for him for the part. The problem I have encountered is that the modules I have been able to find, do not have numbers that match his.
His module (the dead one) has "Nittondenso 131100-3260" marked on it. The other one (1 for cyl's #1 & #3, 1 for cyl's #2 & 4), has TID 12-04 marked on it.
It appears as though a replacement for either one would solve the problem as they both have the exact same wires and connector.
I have looked at the Dynatek site, but did not see anything offered.
Can anybody offer me some advice, information, or resources for locating one of these modules?
This bike is a 750, not a 700, but I do not know if that matters.
Thanks!

The V45 and V65 Sabre and Magna all use compatible ignitors. (I think the V30 does as well.) You can also swap them between cylinder banks without issue as well. The only 'difference' between the two different part numbers is one has a rev limiter built in, one doesn't. Normally a bike will have one limited one, one without. That said, you can run with two sans limiters, or two with limiters, the bike will still run, it just changes how it behaves when you overrev the piss out of it.
You should swap ignitors around to make sure the problem follows the box as the coils tend to be suspect on these bikes as well.
http://sabmag.org has a ton of good info on these bikes. http://v4hondabbs.com is another good resource and a possible spot to find a new CDI. There is also an ongoing discussion on a replacement system. Dyna has made a setup specific to the Honda V4, and there is a forum member there working on his own drop in replacement system.
Wow. Thanks, Kurlon! Lots of good info here! So, you're saying that I can just e-bay an ignitor from any (v-45 would probably be my best bet) Magna, '83-up, even though the numbers are different? Sounds good. Besides, I am making no promises to the owner, and making sure that he is willing to pay me for the part, even if it does not work. What choice does he have? Right?
Now, lets see what I can dig up...

The CDI's haven't been available OEM for a few years now.
They don't even list the bike.![]()

Ron Ayer's fiche library is anemic at best.
http://www.bikebandit.com
http://www.servicehonda.com
http://www.cmsnl.com
CMSNL has just about EVERY fiche available, so if it's not at the others, or they only have partial fiche's CMSNL will have it:
