Ok, so it's time to buy some new tires for my 2006 GSXR 600.
I do a decent amount of mileage every year (about 4k). Because i know ALL of you have your opinions, i would like to hear what you would reccommend.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm kind of partial to the Power Pilots I have on mine. I had them for a coupl eseasons now and have put about 10k miles on them but this is the last season for the, so all in all it just might be close to 15k when I replace them.
oh and my suggestion.......![]()

pilot powers - i can give you a link to get them for $235 shipped for the pair if you want it
I've hear the Dunlop Qualifier is a good tire too. Thoughts?
Another ding for Pilot Powers.

I have the Same bike (same color too) I put on Pilot pwer 2 cts And love them.
I liked the OE Qualifiers on my bike. They didn't wear as well as the Powers, but they felt more "comfortable" (compliant) over crappy pavement. The Powers don't give up grip for shit on the street unless you really want them to, while the Qualifiers make very predictable movements when giving up traction. I could choose either, but would go with Powers because they maintain grip longer.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will most likely get the Powers![]()
I love the powers I have on teh R6. But I just ordered Pirelli Diablos from cycle gear last saturday for 169.99 shipped (for the pair)
I'm thinking about getting the Metzeler M3s.
Tires - MotoNekoParts
MotoNeko is selling them for $245 shipped. Since I got a bunch of stuff from Sree over there, I could probably get a decent deal on them if people wanted to buy some at the same time.
I have Dunlop Qualifiers...
They are round and black
rears last 2700 front still happy now have 2nd rear

I don't understand what you just said....................![]()
I have the pilot powers 2ct. Sick tires. Too my knowledge they are suppose to wear better then the reg powers. Thus due to the dual compound. Harder in middle softer on sides. Plus these tires are rated at 51 degree of lean angle. Nice for laying down some fairing paint on the street.
hey, sorry for the long response
anyways, just call the place if you want them ASAP.
call 317-882-2453 - the place is flatout motorcycles, located in indiana.
ask for CHRIS. tell him you saw the online promo for $235 for a pair
After 3 sets of powers I went to the qualifiers. After two track days the sides of the michelins got blue and wouldn't grip any more. I'll see how the dunlops do, mileage isn't a huge concern, I just want something a little more predictable.
really? what kinda pace are you riding at? If you're doin 1:20's, of course they're gonna wear out pretty quick but I put a few thousand miles & a good handfull of track days on a set of pilot powers at a good blue group pace (1:25's-1:28's or so, I'm conservatively guessing) & had no problems whatsoever. They're in my basement as back-ups ready to be put back on at a moment's notice cuz they're still good.
yeah, the edges are blue... but so what, all tires do that when you get them hot & let them sit for a while. They still grip fine for me.

The tire wear could he chopped up to sloppy riding style and a heavy bike. There is plenty of tread left, the sides just don't come up to temperature or get balls of rubber anymore. I have two sets in my shed as back-up, I just won't use them on the track. I don't know lap times, only about ten track-days under my belt, so I'm not settin the world on fire.
did anyone end up calling chris and ordering the tires?
pilot powers
WOW michelin fans.... Ive been getting good bang for the buck with my brigestone battlax. I got about 5k out of each rear and now at 10k the front is scalped pretty good. Never been to track day though. For the kind of road riding I do (pretty aggressive) they have been pretty good. No complaints anyway.
