my bike, 1998 bandit 1200S (with vance and hines exhaust and jetted for it, but stock otherwise) has always been smooth off the line, but just this morning it was really stuttering when just taking off in 1st gear. it only has 2,300 miles on it. it would be fine once i got by 2500 rpms, but below that , just starting out off the line it would really stutter. it ran fine last night when i went to the bike night in lowell. what could it be? seems too early to have any major carb adjustments.

Possible effect of high heat/humidity outside?
i thought it was the humidity too. but today the humidity is much lower, and not nearly as warm, so shouldn't it be running better?

WTF??
10 years old and only 2300 miles on it? You need to get out more. It might be the ethanol content in the gas causing a more lean condition. I had similar issues with my 97 CBR900RR. Turns out some tweaking of the carbs got her to run better. I still think she could stand some different rejetting. (It was rejetted when the Two Bros system was installed 10 years ago, but gas was much different then.)
Might do for some fuel system maintenance.
