Bike shutting off while riding...

    Bike shutting off while riding...

The past 3-4 days, every time I ride the bike it shuts off randomly when I let off the throttle. I'm thinking changing the spark plugs would help?

Is it a pain in the ass to do in this bike (02 TLR)?

Sounds like a carb problem. How is the idle?

    need more specific info..

but yeah, changing the plugs will never hurt the quality of the engine's performance..
but there's a dozen other things that could cause that problem too

I have had a similar problem with my 05 gsxr 1000 for 2 years. Not when im riding hard, but it seems after I run it for some time and it gets good and warm ill be slowly crusing to a stop below 20mph and the bike shuts off when I pull the clutch in, cant seem to figure it out.

Yip, it's a pain in the ass to change the plugs on 'em! BUT, you really shouldn't have to if all is well. In fact, I haven't changed the plugs in my TL-R in about 5 years!

Have you fucked around with anything like, under the seat recently? Almost sounds like the fuel relay switch is loose and flopping around. I had a similar problem a few years back...

Have you fucked around with the idle adjustment on either bike?

I'm guessing you meant throttle body?

I was just gonna bring that up! The battery compartment is a pain in the ass on the TL-R. It would be real easy to pinch a cable if for any reason you had the battery cover off. I've heard of people doing that on 'em. The positive lead that is...

My money's still on the fuel relay switch though...

Also check the sidestand (kickstand) switch. Seems to happen on the TL-R's...
