I just put a new set of rotors on my DRZ, I used the stock rotors for the dirt wheels.
The new rotors say I need to get new brake pads. Is this necessary, or is it something they put on there for liability purposes? Will it make much of a difference if I dont bother with changing the pads, or am I just being a cheap ass?

1. you're being a cheap ass
2. i've done it before. it'll still stop, just not as good as new pads. test it out to make sure it still stops predictably before you go out ripping around. ideally you'd get new pads for the new rotors and then when you swap wheels you'd swap to the pads that are already bedded into those rotors... ideal, but not really 100% necessary.

dont worry about it. just ride it.
a drz doesn't go fast enough to need brakes.
