Triumph 955i sounds in Boston traffic.

Triumph 955i sounds in Boston traffic.

Burbles..... I'm not certain how to rectify this situation, I'll just do my best to try to ride them out of the system LOL. The bike sounds not unlike a '73 911S with Webers..... actually it sounds JUST LIKE a '73 911S with Webers, I know my friend had a '67 911S with Webers, same deal.

Headed down now to see if I can find the owner of the S3 that appears in the video.

    '73 911S with Webers?

More like a 1993 Honda Civic with a fart can.

That thing sounds like shit and I'd be embarrassed to be seen on it until the problem is rectified.

    That bike has some issues.
You had better get it tuned before you melt something.

Really, I thought it was just because of the open exhaust, it runs like a demon. I was planning on setting a mild Daytona tune on it, let me have the folks at Riverside plug it in and see what they see. You heard it running the other day when we put the DB meter on it.

Well that's funny it's the same tune it had when some of you liked it. As I told Ted I was going to put a mild Daytona tune on it, so I will see what happens when I run it over to Riverside and have them plug her in!

No I'm not embarrassed, she runs like a demon with no hesitation anywhere in the range, even when I lugged it.

You know what, I just checked, there is a slight one where the upswept pipe begins I will reposition the clamp. Like I say I've ridden other 955s and this one pulls like a MF no worries there. It's so slight that it was not noticeable once everything was warm. If moving the clamp doesn't work I'll take it apart and thread some silicone in there thursday night and let it set up good, it's supposed to rain Friday.

I agree. That's the only time I've heard a triple and cringed a little bit. I my Sprint and the music it makes.

Oh yes, I'm sure it will continue to pull like a freight train while it cooks your valves. And then, slowly, it won't.

Didn't sound that bad. Maybe it's how you had the camera mounted on the bike?

I like your roadside repair method, btw!

Well it could be, I was thinking that as well but will still have someone at Riverside ride it tomorrow for sure I'll be there at opening. I will also record it again with the camera in the same place early tomorrow morning before I head to Riverside so I can listen back to back. I noted on the YT page it wasn't mounted at all just out and about and chucked it in my backpack with the video running that's why I separated the audio and stuck the stills in there. I love that thumbnail still it really captures the S3 nicely.

Yah that repair was a hoot but ultimately it was still weeping so had to order a gasket and used the one from the old engine. Nappy solutions 101. At least with the delayed season I have plenty of time to get it sorted!

PS: Then there is this possibility:

A bit more on this, could be something very simple.

Oh, I'm well aware of what eliminates the burbles, but the mystery is why does his triple sound like shit?
Me, I like the burbles that my triple makes. It sounds even better through my TOR exhaust!

Okay, what about increasing CO a bump while I order those?

And also there is a small leak at the base of the up pipe. And as I mentioned I have not had throttle bodies adjusted on this engine yet, on the other one all that and valves had just been done
Thanks for the waiver, it is my first Triumph.

PS: The engine is out of an '04 Speedy.

I'm checking the exhaust leak first and the CO second.

They may be looking for a way to make a few few extra bucks, or they might not be used to hearing the IXIL, being more accustomed to the TOR, and were concerned that you might think the burbles are excessive.

I can say that disabling the SAI on an aftermarket exhaust equipped bike will not diminish the burbles to any great extent. It would be difficult to determine any difference in the before and after sounds.

You know what I think I know why you guys are knocking, I listened to it again and I had the camera input mic turned down a bit but prolly not enough. The backpack was directly over the exhaust so the mic is likely overloaded, the bike in person sounds great. And one of my favorite cars of all time was my '83 GTi, which with an Ansa exhaust burbled and crackled incessantly on overrun, I loved that little car.

lol hey now, I'm not getting on the hook for maintainance woes.. just pointing out that's a fix for... "the burbles"

I liked mine as well, I had a shorty on it and it was LOUD on deceleration...

miss my 955... but, another triple might just be headed my way...
