Cartridge fork revalve

Anybody out there ever re-valved a Showa upsidedown fork before? Specifically the rebound? I'm having trouble getting the valve out of the cartridge...

So far I have: drilled out the dimples and removed the "cap" of the cartridge; removed the circlip holding the top out spring

I can see another circlip, but access is impossible. Is there a way to push the valve out the bottom???

OK, if it goes out the bottom, then there is a collar that is peened on the rod that must be somehow released. I don't know how to do this. Any ideas?

If I was you I would give them to kmf and let him do them. I would not feel safe trying to remember if I put them back together right. Never mind to fact that you have to know alot about the valves and shim stacks to get them to work good. He knows that well and has built some awesome forks.

Yes, I read it. The rod will not push the piston out the bottom because there is a collar that stops it at the top out spring. I'm definitely in over my head here, and no one seems to know the set-up on this fork. It's a 35mm upsidedown showa from a 95 RS125.

Where are you located? What would you charge me to finish this job?

Some of the aftermarket shocks require a fair amout of specialty tools and I do not have enough of a calling for shock work to justify the expense of the tools.

If you need the shock serviced I would recommend Traxxion Dynamics.
