Clutch Switch??

To all you racers who have 05 600RR race bikes here is my question.

When you remove the turn signal assy off the clip-on what do you do with the clutch switch?

a. Jumper it
b. leave it alone
c. none of the above.....explain

If you move your switch to a location where the clutch lever does not activate it, you will have to jumper it so you can use your starter without having to find neutral.

Just so you know: When you pull the clutch lever in, the contacts in the switch close and completes the circuit. When you release the clutch, the contacts open and break the circuit.

Do not jump it unless you want your bike starting in gear and taking off without you. Leave it off and play it safe. Start the bike in nuetral.

On the Suzukis if you jump the switch, the ECU thinks that you have the clutch lever in all the time. It knocks down the rev limiter and it retards the timing costing you 2-4 hp. I gut the harness and reinstall the OEM connectors with just the two wires for the switch in place. I use spiral wrap and some heat shrink tubing to protect the wires. I still have to pull in the clutch to start the bike, but the plastic switch gear is removed and if you activate the tip switch in a near high side, you can pull in the clutch, turn the key off and on twice and restart the bike with out having to find neutral and only lose two or three positions.......don't ask how I know that one.
