Changing the coolant on my Ninja 1000.
Recommendations?
And don't believe everything you think.
In a fan of using whatever was in the bike so flushing isn't really necessary. Just dump the old stuff as best you can and refill it.
What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
Thanks. Most of the job entails removing the side fairings to get at the radiator and the drain screw on the water pump housing. The overflow tank is located ahead of the rear wheel next to the shock, have to siphon out the old. (Two good reasons to stay with naked bikes.)
Figure I'll just stop by the selling dealer SVM and get whatever they stock.
I used Motul Motocool Expert in my KLR 650, but recently found some harsh words about it on ADV Rider.
So, was just wondering what any of youse use for coolant.

I used Silkolene Pro Cool in my Ducati and dirty bikes? Handy 'cause the local shop had it on the shelf. All my bikes that need coolant now are race bikes so they've got homeopathic coolant. (Water, a splash of Maxima Kool-aide and whatever memory of glycol that was once in those bikes they can dilute out.)

Walmart pre mix see if its says aluminum but either way

It is not that I should live it is that you should die
Maxima Coolanol is what I'm using nowadays. Affordable. Easy to source. Safe for aluminum and magnesium cases. I believe I have it almost all the bikes now.
Thanks. Good to know some options. While you all were posting I was OMW to the Kaw dealer who sells Spectro:
Year Round Coolant | Spectro Performance Oils
Year Round Coolant is a specially-formulated, pre-diluted, full-fill, low silicate coolant for aluminum motorcycle/ snowmobile/ATV engines and radiators. For use in all machines with a water-cooling system, Year-Round is designed to prevent vapor-lock and corrosion, and can actually enhance your cooling system’s efficiency. Do not add water, as this is a ready-to-add, pre-diluted coolant. Non-corrosive, specially formulated for aluminum engines, Year-Round is phosphate-free and non-abrasive.
