    Don't get a cotter pin! You should not re-use those as they weaken after repeated bending.

    Go in that isle and look for a " Hitch Pin Clip ". These are awesome and self locking.

    Just pull out, or push in and they come in different sizes for the various diameter holes.

    Very cool items that do not go bad and can't fall off.

    Karaya's pretty much on the money....

    Go to the local 'Po, and go to the fasteners area. It's actually called a safety clip. The hitch pin clips are a bit different, and I found they can be hard to use in the application used with the axle....

    Hitch pin clips are meant to 'lock' around the hitch they'd be securing, and it's tough to clip 'em to the axle like that. You can see by the photo above how easy the safetly clips are to use. Just don't slam the shit outta your swingarm (like JC did!) getting the old pin out!!
