You could also find a buddy like me that is more than happy to wrench on your bike just out of enjoyment and the occasional night out or lunch and what not!!

Hesogood and I have been putting together his new race bike. We'll see just how well our skills are after this weekend.

I like working on mine as much as possible...it kills me to pay the dealership rediculous prices. Although with bigger projects i would prob let the dealer do it. Oil changes are pretty easy...the hardest /most time consuming part is taking the fairing off and putting it on. I tried that whole V thing with the cardboard so you don't have to take the plastics off but i couldn't get enough leverage to get the filter off.

Not sure what '...that whole V thing with the cardboard...' is, but I've found with EVERY fully faired streetbike I've owned, ya don't hafta take off what they tell ya. Maybe I've just been lucky. But I simply take the belly pan off and have at 'er. Every manual I've had said to remove the side fairings too. Never understood that. Maybe they tell ya that to make service dept's look like heroes?

I used to take off my fairings. Now I don't remove anything. Just let it drain past the headers and spray them with a little WD40 to clean them up.

I'll do just about anything so long as it doesn't require splitting the case. I also don't work on shocks and cartridge forks, too complicated and too much mojo-voodoo goin on in there that can so easily be fucked up. I leave my boingers to the local race shop since they have a lot more experience. I have the tools and if I had a full garage (and not just a big shed) and could do pretty much anything though.
