I don't know if anyone's had this problem before but my motorcycle is giving me a total headache. At first I thought it was a problem w/ a chain to provide electricity to the battery but it may not be that. When I ride my bike thru the streets (w/ a lot of stopping & going), I'll notice the idle will get a little lower until finally it will completely stall when I've stopped at the next location. Push starting it up again is a biotch! What I've done was wait about a half-hour & then push start the bike as if the engine needed time to cool off & ride it back home. Very recently I was riding it & while going at least 30 mph, it just suddenly cut off & I could not start it up again at all. The engine never gets too hot. Any idea what the problem could be? Is it the ignition switch or the drive chain, or someone scratching their butt at the most inopportune time?? Any idea would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I think we need more info. First take a meter to your battery terminals and rev it up. Let us know if the voltage goes up when you give it gas. How does it crank when you hit the button. Whats the voltage with the bike off? What about when you put the key on but dont do anything else?
