So I have sorta thrown in the towel on my
diagnosing my electrical short. Could by my PC3 with
mis-routed wiring (insulation worn through) or a shorted relay or switch (neutral?) or somewhere in between.
I can make an appt at Greater Boston Motorsports or Bettencourts.
Which would you recommend? Please say though if you have actual exp.
with them, ok?

if you think its your pc3, why dont you just remove it

If you take it to GBM ask for Chris Tupta to work on it. He is a great tech. I know nothing about Bettencourts.

thanks for suggestions.
I'd take out the PC3 if I knew with some degree of certainty
that it's be worth the effort. See with with my having to take care of my
daughter alot I don't have as much free time to pick at this issue
as much as I'd like to.
Prior to this last year I had the ignition switch over heat and
the solder melted and it stopped the headlights from working.
So its not certain that the PC3 is the issue. I just see that it was
installed with the wiring routed oddly (not by me) after my rear
end accident. It works (or did before this short appeared)
RG, Has Chris Tupta done electrical work for you?
Or is just someone you know.

Both.
He is a good friend of mine, but also a great mechanic that has worked on a bunch of my bikes, mostly when I have gotten in over my head, and troubleshooting. Which is usually electrical issues.

i had an issue with bettencourts service. my clutch cable snapped on me on my way home from leaving bettencourts. i actually had a new cable at home, and just didnt get to installing it yet. since i was stranded and needed to get home, i had a friend bring me the cable & i got the bike back to bettencourts.
the service guy was so rude to me. he made me feel like i was inconveniencing him, and he didn't want to bother replacing my cable. i was charged more for labor than the i was quoted, and he rushed me right out the door. i will never go to them again for service, but i do like their parts department a lot.
I also know Chris Tupta at GBM. Rachael the service manager is super nice and also knows her shit. I think they could also pick it up from your house too, if the bike is not running....
Try Degsy if he is willing to get his hands into it....

So you've put too much current through some wires and melted the solder/insulation off them? How did this happen?
There's a good chance you'll need to remove the cover from the whole wiring harness to see if you have a wire or three shorted together in the middle of the harness.
But the first step is to just disconnect the PC3.
Take the pcIII off first.
Akira, it's fixed.
Bad ground in the blue multi-wire connector to the headlight relay (and probably an iffy relay now also). Looks like water got into the connector. That rubberised plastic shroud over it needs to be kept in place and the connector kept out of the elements if possible.
Anyway, all working now. I'll re-assemble the front end tomorrow (some strange epoxy/tape/plastic shims in the headlight area huh? LOL

I will get it all back together for this afternoon. I will check with Bettencourt's to see if they have a headlight relay as I'm not confident it will stay working now it has been arcing. Also, I will epoxy that screw anchor so it will need to dry for a few hours.
Pick up tonight? I'll PM you.
