I need a new chain and sprocket setup, I'm adding three teeth to the rear sprocket and switching to a 520 chain.
Stock chain length is 108 links, how longer does the chain need to be? Will 110 be long enough?
Most chains come 120 teeth. if you buy a kit the chain will be at least long enough.
Here's a link that you can save.

I was wondering because the site I was looking @ offered 110 or 120.

Do you want your wheel adjusters to be farther forward or farther back by 1 link?
Ummm, I just want to be able to this by this weekend.

Haha... You'll need a little more than 3 teeth up.
TAke -1 for the front while you,r at it and then 110 will fit.
Check out the link I posted. It has preloaded datta on almost every bike you could think of. It will tell you exactly how many teeth you need for what sprocket you want. And what you top speed, or speed at any rpm with any sprocket combo. Plus all kinds of other info.

down 1 in the front, up 3 in the back is what i have and it pops up easy but its also easy to keep it down, 520 kit is a little weaker, just a recommendation that you stay with 525

I was only joking about the whole wheelie thing, that's least of my concerns.
Definitely going with the 520, all the cool kids are doing it.![]()
520 wont last as long, its maybe 1/2pd lighter then a 525 chain so not really much gain. A 520 might last 10k or so while a 525 will probably last 15-20 if taken care of. You can buy a nice ER DID chain and it will be the same weight as a 520 chain if you're really worried about it.
If your track racing and replace your chain every yr anyways then get 520 otherwise no need. I stuck with 525 and 16/46 on my f4i.
