dirt cheap
2000 sv650 w/ clean title
Rear tire locked up and now it doesnt work...
im looking at it this week and thinking of fixing it up...
what are some possible things that would be wrong with it to cause the rear tire to lock?
transmission?
bearings?
(im interested in making it a track bike)
Siezed due to no oil? Ask the owner to drop the oil, look for particles or chunks of metal.
Could be a lot of things but replacement engines are reasonably priced if it is that cheap!!
Good luck!
That said, this bike is still available, and looks like a solid deal.

Your crazy not to just go there and buy it. A replacement engine should be fairly short money and you could easily part it out and triple your money. If you get her I'll help you figure out what's wrong. And if she needs a motor I'll help ya find one and get her going. Don't sleep on this. If there is ANY way to get there before Wednesday I'd get there. Your lucky to to be first in line but if someone shows up cash in hand she'll be gone. Happens too much on CL.

I don't know, I've done a fair share of building bikes that "need work", and put them on a track. how cheap is cheap? if were taking a couple hundred bucks...it be a steal...
Ive found it is best to buy one already done up for the track is best. Let someone else spend the $$$ on suspension upgrades and other items. It is expensive to build a bike. Been there done that.
Dont get to caught up in the moment, there are bikes out there for good deals, especially from forum members if your patient.
Suspension is what you want out there, just my .67569356 cents worth.
EDIT: nevermind
if you ARE going to get it, just paypal the dude now.

Jackie - It's your money and I respect that hence my edit.
I agree, I've been in your shoes and others told me what I'm telling you.
Sometimes you need to experience it first hand. I dont regret any of my builds, they were great for learning how much it costs to do such projects and the time associated with them. I also have the tools & knowledge needed to do them on my own. ive never been one to depend on others.
Its your time & money, just be aware of these things. Listen to those that have been doing it for some time. they bring alot of knowledge to the table. they also paid for that knowlede through trial, error, & lots of green.
Good luck with what you decide. there really is no wrong answer here.
