Anyone got a reccomendation for someone in the Rindge NH or Winchendon Ma. area to re upholster a seat? the seat on my KZ1000 is getting tired after 40 yrs. so its time. Thanks,,, JT
I had Counterbalance Cycles do my last one. He's in RI but you could mail it. He did phenomenal work on my custom deal.
Closer to you -- I recall a few years ago there was someone from Merrimack NH area with a full upholstery shop in a trailer, did boat and bike work. Sorry don't know his name, maybe someone else here knows if he's still operating.
And don't believe everything you think.
Try a Google search for your area. With all the ponds & small lakes around there, there's bound to be a handful of upholsterers close by.
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
MCM was the guy i wanted to do the seat as he used to go to bike night and could do it while i was there, but he doesnt attend anymore and is always on the road,, i did a few google searches with no solid results. one guy i found somewhat local does a lot of boat work but he isnt taking on anymore work,,,,
Thanks Sheppo, this is for that KZ1000 you liked to look at,,,
I had my FZ6 redone by www.terryscustomseats.com, but it wasn’t just a reupholster, it made it all-day comfortable.
There’s a guy near Middletown CT that does seats too, Eddie Barrett I think
This for a restoration project, so it has to look the same as the factory seat, only custom i would consider is a gel pad in the seat. sounds easy, lol.
My aunt does a bunch of seat work. Mostly for old/antique snowmobiles, but has done boats, bar stools, and other odd stuff too.
She's also the president of the Baker River Snowmobile Club.
She's up in Dorchester, so a little bit of a drive for you, but no too far.
Here's a link with a contact form, or just call her number (number is kind of tucked at end of address).
