ever try to get the battery screw back into the post on a motorcycle battery? especially if you are adding accesories , you have even less thread to play with. I figured out a way to make it easier, before you unscrew the terminal and lose that square nut, slide the tip of a zip tie under the square nut then when you unscrew the terminal the nut won't fall down and when you go to screw it back in, it will get thread engagement easily , then just pull out the zip tie.

good call. The guy I sold my bike to just had to do a similar thing to my ZX when adding some pigtails for a battery tender cept he used chunks of a popsicle stick & left em in there.

thats what I was doing tonight, adding pig tails for battery tenders ( err I mean the cheaper walmart trickle chargers that are only $18.44 each and work just as well as the $34.00 battery tenders)
and when you have to buy 5 of them it can add up.

On a bike I bought that had side mount screws, I found that someone had snipped a little piece of the battery vent tube and stuck it behind the nut. Still there, real helpful

you been peeking under my seat, why pull zip ties out, they stay in place perfectly fine amd are there for the next time you disconnect the battery

wish I read this BEFORE installing my PCIII today and having that problem. iiiiieded up getting a flat head scew driver in there to prep up that square nut.

I cut fuel line and put it under there. Works supah-good.

you could always buy a slightly longer bolt/screw. it would probably cost all of a quarter at your local hardware store.

I thought of that but for some reason the battery bolt is non magnetic I am sure there is a reason for that so I didn't want to try a longer bolt.


I know it isn;t magnetic because when I droped the one inside the bike , the telescopic magnet I have to retreve it didn;t work.

im also thinking that if you had access to a soldering gun you could put a couple tacks on it, hold the nut in place, well, semi-perminantly.
